TO THE
NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE

Special Licensing District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the sixth section of "The Licens-
ing Act, 1881," it is enacted that the Governor
shall, as soon as conveniently may be after the com-
mencement of the said Act, by Proclamation in the
Gazette, from time to time define districts to be
licensing districts under the said Act, and from time
to time may alter and redefine the boundaries of the
same:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby,
in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in me by the said Act, proclaim and define
the part of the colony mentioned and described in
the Schedule hereto to be a special licensing district
for the purposes of the said Act, and that such
district shall be known by the name by which it is
designated in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.
MAHINAPUA DISTRICT.

BOUNDED towards the North-east by the Borough
of Hokitika; towards the North-west by the said
Borough of Hokitika to the Hokitika River; again
towards the North-east and towards the South-east
by the said Hokitika River and a line known as the
HH line respectively to the intersection of the latter
by another line known as the HM line; again towards
the South-east by the said HM line to its intersection
by another line known as the HF line; towards the
East by the said HF line to the Totara River;
towards the South-west by the said Totara River;
and again towards the North-west by the ocean to
the place of commencement.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Honorable Arthur Hamilton Gordon,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Her Majesty's High
Commissioner for the Western Pacific,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
seventeenth day of May, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-two.

Licensing Districts redefined.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the sixth section of "The Licens-
ing Act, 1881," it is enacted that the Governor
shall, as soon as conveniently may be after the com-
mencement of the said Act, by Proclamation in the
Gazette, from time to time define districts to be
licensing districts under the said Act, and from time
to time may alter and redefine the boundaries of the
same: And whereas it is expedient to alter and re-
define the boundaries of the Districts of Kanieri and
Jackson's Bay:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do, hereby,
in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in me by the said Act, alter and redefine the
boundaries of the Kanieri and Jackson's Bay Dis-
tricts, which shall henceforth be those described in
the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.
KANIERI.

COMMENCING at the mouth of the Arahura River;
thence along the southern bank of said river to its
source; thence southerly along the dividing range
between the Provincial Districts of Westland and
Canterbury to the source of the Pass River (a branch
of the Hokitika River); thence down the southern
bank of said river to its junction with the Hokitika
River; and thence down the southern bank of the last-
mentioned river to a line known as the HO line;
thence westerly along the said HO line to its inter-
section by another line known as the HH line; thence
