ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
tenth day of January, 1882.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in
me by the twenty-fourth section of "The Public
Reserves Act, 1881," I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said colony, do hereby order and declare that the
reserve made by warrant published in the New Zea-
land Gazette No. 84, and dated the twentieth day of
October, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-one,
for public recreation in the Provincial District of
Canterbury, as an extension of the Timaru Public
Park, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be
and the same is hereby brought under the operation
of and declared to be subject to the provisions of
"The Public Domains Act, 1881;" and the same
shall hereafter be managed, administered, and dealt
with by the Timaru Public Park and Garden Domain
Board, constituted by Order in Council dated the
nineteenth day of April, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-one.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece or parcel of land situate in the
Borough of Timaru, bounded Northward by Queen
Street; Westward by King Street; Southward and
Eastward by Reserve No. 344, and being known as
Reserve No. 278.

and a market-place: And whereas, in the opinion
of the Governor, it is expedient to vest the said land
in the Corporation of the Borough of Winton:
Now, therefore, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said colony, and in
exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him
by the fourth section of "The Public Reserves Act,
1881," doth hereby declare that, from and after the
day of the date hereof, the said reserves shall become
vested in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of
the Borough of Winton, in trust for municipal pur-
poses and a market-place respectively.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Southland Division of
the Provincial District of Otago, containing by ad-
measurement 1 rood 3 perches, more or less, being
Section No. 10, Block XXII., on the map of the
Town of Winton. Bounded towards the North-east
by Section No. 11 of said block, 359.4 links; towards
the East by a right-of-way, 76 links; towards the
South-west by Section No. 9 of said block, 358.8
links; and towards the North-west by the Great
North Road, 76 links. For municipal purposes.
All that parcel of land in the Southland Division
of the Provincial District of Otago, containing by
admeasurement 33 perches, more or less, being Sec-
tion No. 4, Block XXIII., on the map of the Town
of Winton. Bounded on the North by Section No. 5
of said block, 233.5 links; towards the East by a
railway reserve, 80.4 links; on the South by Section
No. 3 of said block, 278.9 links; and towards the
North-west by the Great North Road, 95.8 links.
For municipal purposes.
All that parcel of land in the Southland Division
of the Provincial District of Otago, containing by
admeasurement 1 rood 27 perches, more or less,
being the Market Reserve, as shown on the map of
the Town of Winton. Bounded towards the North-
east by Wemyss Street, 295.5 links; towards the
South-east by Meldrum Street, 287 links; on the
South by Meldrum Street aforesaid, 101 links; and
towards the North-west by Park Street, 227 links.
As a site for a market.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by "The Maori Real Estate Management Act, 1867" (hereinafter called "the said Act"),
it is enacted that, if any title to or interest in any hereditaments shall accrue to any Maoris, who or
any of whom shall be infants, lunatics, or under legal disability, it shall be lawful for the Governor in
Council, if he think fit, to order that such hereditaments, or any part thereof or interest therein, as shall to
the Governor in Council be shown to belong to such infant, or lunatic, or other person under legal disability,
shall be vested in trustees as the Governor in Council shall think fit:
And whereas by "The Maori Real Estate Management Act Amendment Act, 1877," it is provided
that, in all cases in which no trustee of such estate of any infant Maori prior to the passing of the said
last-recited Act has been appointed, the Governor may appoint such trustee only on the recommendation
of a Judge of the Native Land Court:
And whereas in pursuance of orders bearing dates as contained in the first column of the Schedule
hereto, made by the Judges named in the second column thereof, the persons named in the third column
were recommended to the Governor as trustees under the said Acts on behalf of the persons named and
under the disability described in the fourth column, in respect of the lands described or referred to in the
fifth column;
