Special Licensing District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the sixth section of "The Licens-
ing Act, 1881," it is enacted that the Governor
shall, as soon as conveniently may be after the com-
mencement of the said Act, by Proclamation in the
Gazette, from time to time define districts to be
licensing districts under the said Act, and from time
to time may alter and redefine the boundaries of the
same:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby,
in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in me by the said Act, proclaim and define the
part of the colony mentioned and described in the
Schedule hereto to be a special licensing district for
the purposes of the said Act, and that such district
shall be known by the name by which it is designated
in the said Schedule.
SCHEDULE.
CHATHAM ISLANDS.
Chatham Islands.--Being all that area known as
the Chatham Islands, including Pitt and all other
adjacent islands.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Honorable Arthur Hamilton Gordon,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Her Majesty's High
Commissioner for the Western Pacific,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at Christ-
church, this sixteenth day of March, in
the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-two.

First Meeting of Board of Governors of Wanganui
High School.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and au-
thority vested in me for this purpose by "The
Wanganui High School Act, 1878," I, Arthur
Hamilton Gordon, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, do hereby appoint that the first meeting
of the Board of Governors of the High School of
Wanganui shall be held in the office of the Education
Board of the District of Wanganui, Nixon Place,
Wanganui, on Tuesday, the twenty-eighth day of
March instant, at eleven o'clock a.m.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the

WHEREAS by the one hundred and fifty-fourth
section of "The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted
that the Governor, by Proclamation, may from time
to time declare any Crown lands within any mining
district not held under license or lease at the date of
such Proclamation, or over which the license or lease
