NOTICE is hereby given that Messrs. SIEVWRIGHT
and STOUT, of Wellington, in the Colony of
New Zealand, Solicitors, have applied, on behalf of
WILLIAM WILLS, of the City of Dunedin, in the
said colony, Soap and Candle Manufacturer, to regis-
ter, under "The Trade Marks Act, 1866," the trade
mark of which the following is a description, viz. :-
Description of Trade Mark.
The words "Southern Cross."
Nature of the Articles to which it is intended such
Trade Mark shall apply.
All descriptions of soap and candles manufactured
by the said William Wills.

NOTICE is hereby given that WILLIAM JOHN
GANDY, of Wellington, in the Colony of New
Zealand, Merchant, has applied, on behalf of
Messieurs ROBERT K. MURRAY AND SONS, of
Dunedin, in the said colony, to register, under "The
Trade Marks Act, 1866," the trade mark of which
the following is a description, viz. :-
Description of Trade Mark.
A basket of fruit suspended by a chain in the
centre of a label and surrounded by a circle coloured
red with black on the outer and inner edges, the
circle is set in a square, the four sides of which are
about the eighth of an inch distant from the outer
edge of the circle, in the four corners of the square
are semi-concentric rings in black and white; the
small spaces left between the rings and the sides of
the square being filled in with scroll-work. Outside
the square, on the right hand, are the words "Red
Cross Jam Works, Dunedin," printed at right angles
to the rest of the design, with a Maltese cross,
coloured red, on the right and left of the words; the
words and crosses are enclosed in a long parallelogram
formed by a waved line with dots in the curves. On
the left of the square are the words "R. K. Murray
and Sons' Trade Mark," and a Maltese cross on the
right and left similarly printed and enclosed: outside
all is a black line enclosing the whole in a parallelo-
gram. A broad red-curved band having yellow edges
crosses the circle which surrounds the basket, near
the top on which is printed the names of various
jams, as "Raspberry Jam," &c.
Nature of the Articles to which it is intended such
Trade Mark shall apply.
