regulations are for the time being in force.

Otago and Westland.
ARTHUR GORDON, Governor.
WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth
section of "The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted
that the Governor may from time to time, either by
general or particular description, and whether the
same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale
temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be
then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands
which, in his opinion, are required for any of the
purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested
in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve
from sale the land in the Land Districts of Otago
and Westland, described in the Schedule here-
under written, for the purposes in the said Schedule
specified.
SCHEDULE.
OTAGO.
ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Otago, containing by admeasurement 10 acres, more
or less, situate in the Otama District, and being
Section No. 13, Block II., Otama District. Bounded
towards the North by Section No. 12 of same block,
640 links; towards the South-east by Section No.
16 of same block, 1946 links; towards the South-
west by Section No. 8 of same block, 700 links,
and intersected by a road-line 50 links wide: be all
the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a school site
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Otago, containing by admeasurement 8 acres and
3 perches, more or less, situate in the Chatton District,
and being Section No. 11, Block X., of said district.
Bounded towards the North-east by a road-line,
1801.3 links; towards the South by Sections No. 2
and 3, Block XII., of said district, 1366.3 links; and
towards the West by Section No. 18, Block XI., of
said district, 1173.9 links: be all the aforesaid link-
ages more or less. For a school site.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Otago, containing by admeasurement 9 acres 2
roods, more or less, situate in the Chatton District,
and being Section No. 12, Block XII., of said dis-
trict. Bounded towards the North-west by a road-
line, 1500 links; towards the North-east by a road-
line, 1407 links; and towards the South by Section
No. 11 of same block, 1687 links: be all the afore-
said linkages more or less. For a school site.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Otago, containing by admeasurement 10 acres and
8 perches, more or less, situate in the Lower Hawea
District, and being Section No. 11, Block V., of said
district. Bounded towards the North by a road-line,
1256.5 links; towards the South-east by a road-line,
2034.1 links; and towards the West by a road-line,
1600 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.
For a school site.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Otago, containing by admeasurement 12 acres 1
rood 4 perches, more or less, situate in the Waita-
huna East District, and being Section No. 26, Block
X., of said district. Bounded towards the North-
west by Section No. 43 of same block and a road-line
1300 links, also by another road-line 500 links;
towards the North-east by a road-line, 300 links and
WESTLAND.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Westland, containing by admeasurement 2
acres, more or less, being Reserve No. 245 (in
red) in the Town of Orima, Block XV., on the
map of the Arnold Survey District. Bounded
towards the West by a road, 500 links; towards
the North by Crown lands, 400 links; towards the
East by Crown lands, 500 links; and towards the
South by Catholic Church Reserve, 400 links; be all
the aforesaid linkages more or less. For police
and courthouse purposes.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial Dis-
trict of Westland, containing by admeasurement
2 roods 21 perches, more or less, being Reserve
No. 244 (in red) in the Town of Dunganville,
Block II., on the map of the Hohonu Survey
District. Bounded towards the North by Dungan
Street, 295 links; towards the East by Guinness
Street, 250 links; towards the South by Catholic
Chapel Reserve, 192 links; and towards the West by
Section 139, 250 links: be all the aforesaid linkages
more or less. For police and courthouse purposes.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this sixth day of March, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-two.

IN pursuance and exercise of all powers and authori-
ties vested in me by "The Act, 1876,"
I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the per-
sons named in the Schedule hereto to be Judges of
the Assessment Courts for the districts placed oppo-
site their respective names.
