NOTICE is hereby given that CHARLES HUT-
CHINS, as Administrator of the Estate of JOHN
HUTCHINS, late of Woodville, Basketmaker, deceased,
has applied to be registered as Proprietor of an estate
in fee-simple in one undivided moiety of and in 40
acres of land, Rural Section 170, Woodville, comprised
in Register-book, Vol. ix., folio 164; and that he will
be so registered, unless caveat forbidding the same be
lodged within one calendar month after the date of
the Gazette containing this notice.

Mining Notices.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT A WATER-
RACE.

To the Mining Registrar at Black's of the Otago
Gold Fields Mining District, and all other persons
whom it may concern.

TAKE notice that it is intended to construct a
Water-race and divert water, pursuant to the
provisions of section 31 of "The Mines Act, 1877,"
commencing at a point at the Upper Gorge of the
Manuherika River, and terminating at the Lower
Gorge on Black's Flat, with an ana branch running

through my claim, certificate No. 22108, on Brandy
Hill, Black's.
The length of such race is three miles or there-
abouts, and its intended course is east and west.
The mean depth of such principal race is 2 feet, and
the mean breadth is 6 feet; and of the branch race,
depth 2 feet, breadth 1 foot 6 inches; and it is pro-
posed to divert thirty Government-heads of water
in the principal race, and four Government-heads of
water in the ana branch. The time required for the
construction and completion of such race is twelve
months.

pany as a Limited Company under the provisions of
"The Mining Companies Act, 1872."

    Quartz-Mining Company (Limited).

  4. The nominal capital of the Company is thirty-nine thou-
    sand pounds, in thirteen thousand shares of three pounds each.

    pounds.
