THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

The cash sections will be offered for sale by
public auction, at Hawera, on Wednesday, the 22nd
February.

Deferred-payment sections will be open for appli-
cation at Patea and Hawera, on Monday, the 20th
February next.

Contested applications for any of the deferred-
payment sections will be decided on the 22nd Feb-
ruary, at Hawera, immediately before the auction
sale of the cash land.

The sections in Block XIII., Kaupokonui, abut on
the continuous Native reserve, between the Aurora
Road and the Oeo River.

The sections in Block V., Ngaire, lie to the west-
ward of the Waingongoro River, and are connected
with the railway-line by cleared road-lines.

The bush is mainly light timber, soft woods, and a
few rata, and the land is well watered.

Terms of Sale: For the cash lands, one-fourth of
the purchase-money to be paid at the sale, and the
balance to a Receiver of Land Revenue at Patea or
Hawera within one calendar month from date of sale,
otherwise the deposit will be forfeited, and the con-
tract for the sale of the land thenceforth be null and
void. Crown-grant fee to be paid on completion of
the purchase.

Lithographed plans of the land may be seen on
application at any Land Office in the colony.

Applicants for any of the deferred-payment lands
may send their applications and deposits, with statu-
tory declaration, as required by "The Land Act,
1877," through post to Land Office, Patea, to arrive
on or before Monday, the 20th February. Envelopes
should be marked, "Application for deferred-payment
land, Kaupokonui Survey District," or "Ngaire
Survey District."

Sale of Deferred-payment Lands in Southland.

IT is hereby notified that the under-mentioned
sections of land will be open for application, on
deferred payments, at the Crown Lands Office at
Invercargill, on Thursday, the 23rd February next:—

declaration, as required by "The Land Act, 1877;"

Gold Fields Notices.

Gold-Mining Lease to be granted.

IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of
"The Mines Act, 1877," and with the regula-
tions made under that Act for the granting of leases
for gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that
it is intended to grant a lease of Crown lands for
gold-mining purposes to the applicant specified in
the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid
objections against such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating
the grounds of objection, must be made in writing,
and lodged with the Warden at Greymouth on or
before the 10th day of Febuary, 1882.

Copy of the application made and plan annexed
may be seen at the Warden's Office at Greymouth.

SCHEDULE.

APPLICANT: Richard Helms. Style under which it
is intended to conduct the business: "Paparoa
Range Quartz-Mining Company." 16 acres 2 roods,
south-west of Hamilton's lease, Paparoa Range,
Grey, in the Nelson South-West Mining District.

Given under my hand, at Nelson, this twenty-
fifth day of January, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-two.

adjoining the Echo lease, south side of Big Boat-
man's Creek, Inangahua, in the Nelson South-West
