IN N conformity with the thirty-seventh section of
"The Mines Act, 1877," and with the regula-
tions made under that Act for the granting of leases
for gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that
it is intended to grant a lease of Crown lands for
gold-mining purposes to the applicants specified in
the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid
objections against such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating
the grounds of objection, must be made in writing,
and lodged with the Warden at Arrow on or before
the 24th day of January, 1883.

ngahua, in the Nelson South-West Mining District.

OTICE is hereby given that the under-mentioned
portions of the Awatere Shearing Reserve will
be disposed of, at the Crown Lands Office at Blenheim,
on Wednesday, the 28th February, 1883, at 11 o'clock
in the forenoon:--

  • Present lessee to be allowed to remove 165 chains of fencing within
    three months after date of sale, should he desire to do so,
  • With £38 10s. added, being amount of valuation of improvements or
    fencing.
    Terms of Sale: One-fourth of purchase-money to
    be paid at sale, and the balance to the Receiver of
    Land Revenue, Blenheim, within one calendar month
    from date of sale; otherwise the deposit will be
    forfeited, and the contract for the sale of the land
    thenceforth be null and void.

Also, at the same place, immediately after the
auction sale, leases of the under-mentioned pastoral
