provided that two days' notice of such meeting be
given to each member, specifying the business to be
transacted at such special meeting, and no other
business than that so specified shall be transacted at
such meeting.

Any three of the said Board shall form a
quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time
to time. -
The members of the Board shall, at their first
meeting, and thereafter at an annual meeting to be
held on the second Tuesday in January in every suc-
ceeding year thereafter, elect one of themselves to
be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and
shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The
Chairman shall hold office until the election of his
successor. -
If at any meeting the Chairman is not present
at the time appointed for holding the same, the
members present shall choose some one of their
number to be Chairman of such meeting. -
If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or other-
wise, the office of Chairman shall be or become
vacant, the members may at any monthly or special
meeting appoint a Chairman. -
All questions shall be determined by the ma-
jority of votes of the members of the Board present
at a meeting.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
fifth day of December, 1882.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE
GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section five of "The Customs
Duties Consolidation Act, 1882," it is enacted
that the occupier of any warehouse appointed for the
free warehousing and securing goods therein liable to
duty under the Customs Acts shall pay an annual
duty on such warehouse as in the said enactment is
set forth; and also it is thereby further enacted
that the Governor in Council may, subject to certain
exceptions, exempt from the payment of such duty
the owner or occupier of any such warehouse: And
whereas application has been made for a license for
a warehouse situate on Allotment number two
hundred and fifty-eight of Section number one, in
the Township of Tauranga, of which Richard Coles
Jordan and Edward Sheppard are the owners or
occupiers, and it is expedient that the owners or
occupiers of the said warehouse should be exempt
from payment of the annual duty aforesaid:
Now, therefore, in exercise and pursuance of the
said power and authority, and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of New Zealand, I,
James Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice, the Admin-
istrator of the Government of the said colony, do
hereby order that the occupiers and owners of the
said warehouse shall be exempt from payment of the
annual duty chargeable thereon under the Act herein-
above recited.

Dues and Rates to be charged for use of the Akaroa
and Daly's Wharves.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
fifteenth day of December, 1882.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE
GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it is provided by section four of "The
Harbours Act Amendment Act, 1879," that
the power granted to the Governor in Council by the
seventeenth section of "The Harbours Act, 1878,"
in respect of prescribing what dues and rates may be
charged on wharves vested in local bodies may be
exercised from time to time as occasion may require,
and shall not be limited as in the said section is pro-
vided: And whereas the management of the Akaroa
Wharf, and the wharf locally known as Daly's
Wharf, both within the Borough of Akaroa, was,
by Order in Council dated the first day of March,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-one, and
published in the New Zealand Gazette of the third
day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
one, page two hundred and sixty-four, vested in the
Akaroa Borough Council: And whereas dues and
rates to be charged for the use of the said wharves
were prescribed by Order in Council dated the fifth
day of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
two, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of
the eighth day of June, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-two: And whereas it is expedient to
prescribe fresh dues and rates to be charged for the
use of the said wharves instead of those prescribed
as aforesaid:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator
of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand,
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said colony, and in pursuance and
exercise of the power and authority granted to him
by section seventeen of "The Harbours Act, 1878,"
section four of "The Harbours Act Amendment Act,
1879," and of all other powers and authorities
enabling him in that behalf, doth hereby prescribe
that the dues and rates specified in the Schedule
hereto shall be charged and taken, on and after the
date of this Order in Council, for the use of the
Akaroa Wharf, and the wharf locally known as Daly's
Wharf, aforesaid.
