The following remarks apply only to the above four principal boroughs :-
The births were 258 in November, against 247 in October, an increase of 11.
The deaths in November were 87, against 117 in October, a decrease of 30.
There were 6 deaths of persons of 65 years and upwards: a male of 66 and a female of 66 died at Auckland; a male of 86
at Wellington; a male of 65 and a female of 66 at Christchurch; aud a male of 67 at Dunedin.

Zymotic Diseases. There was a very considerable diminution in the number of deaths from these diseases in November, as
compared with the number in October, the numbers having been 15 in November and 29 in October. Of these 15, Wellington
contributed 9, 6 having been of children under 5 years of age. Measles caused 1 death in Wellington, against 6 in the previous
month. There was not any death in Auckland from these diseases. Diphtheria caused 2 deaths; 1 in Wellington and 1 in
Christchurch.
