THE following Notice to Mariners, received from
the Marine Board, Port Adelaide, South Aus-
tralia, is published for general information.

ST. VINCENT GULF.-ENTRANCE TO PORT ADELAIDE.
NOTICE is hereby given that, on and after the night
of the 18th instant, leading lights will be exhibited
for entering the river at night.

The upper light a powerful red one, and the lower
light white. When brought in line, bear N.E. by E.
(magnetic), nearly, and lead over the outer bar, mid-
way between the bar-buoys.

Keep the lights in one until within half a cable's
length of the lower white light, when a course can
be steered for No. 11 beacon light.

The lights are 650 feet apart.

Changing Purpose of a Reserve in Canterbury.

IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the
Governor intends, under the provisions of sec-
tion 148 of "The Land Act, 1877," to change the
specific purpose of the land described in the second
column of the Schedule hereto, for which the land
was heretofore set apart as a reserve, as specified in
the first column of the said Schedule, to the specific
purpose specified in the third column of the said
Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

Description and Purpose of Reserve. Area of which the Purpose is intended to be Changed. Intended Purpose.
Section No. 380 (in red), 91 acres, in the Rangiora Survey District, Provincial District of Canterbury. For drainage and other purposes of public utility. All that parcel of land in the Rangiora Survey District, Provincial District of Canterbury, containing 91 acres, more or less. Bounded-North-eastward and Eastward by the road north of Section No. 6090 and the Eyre main drain reserve; Eastward by Section No. 6482; South-eastward and Southward by Sections Nos. 3685 and 5707; and South- westward and Westward by Section No. 5635, and the continua- tion of the south-western boun- dary-line thereof to the northern bank of the River Eyre, and by Section No. 6090: and num- bered 380 (in red) on the official map in the Survey Office, Christ- church. For the improvement and protection of the banks of the River Eyre, and for other pur- poses in connection with the overflow of the said river.

Bounded -Northward by Bealey's Road, 10 chains; Westward by a line at right angles thereto, 10 chains; Eastward by the road west of Section No. 2919; and South- ward by a line parallel to the northern boundary: and numbered 2530 (in red). 10 acres, more or less. Bounded -Northward by the road forming the northern boundary of Section No. 4910, 11 chains; Westward by the road forming the eastern boundary of Section No. 4364; Southward by a line parallel to the northern boundary; and Eastward by a line at right angles thereto, 10 chains: and numbered 2531 (in red).
