PATENT for an Invention for Improvements in
Kilns for Burning Lime or Cement.

JAMES MCDONALD, of Tokomairiro, in the Colony
of New Zealand, Limeburner, has deposited at this
office a specification of the said invention, and I have
appointed Friday, the 27th day of January next, at
10 o'clock in the forenoon, at this office, to hear the
said application and all objections thereto; and I
require all persons having an interest in opposing the
grant of such Letters Patent to leave, on or before
the 23rd day of January next, at this office, particu-
lars in writing of their objections to the said applica-
tion, otherwise they will be precluded from urging
the same.

JOHN EDWARD HAYES, of the City of Wellington,
in the Colony of New Zealand, Plumber, has de-
posited at this office a specification of the said inven-
tion, and I have appointed Friday, the 27th day of
January next, at 10.30 o'clock in the forenoon, at
this office, to hear the said application and all objec-
tions thereto; and I require all persons having an
interest in opposing the grant of such Letters Patent
to leave, on or before the 23rd day of January next,
at this office, particulars in writing of their objec-
tions to the said application, otherwise they will be
precluded from urging the same.

mating, and Pyrites Separating Machine, for
gold-saving.

CHARLES MCQUEEN, of the City of Dunedin, in
the Colony of New Zealand, Engineer, has deposited
at this office a specification of the said invention,
and I have appointed Friday, the 13th day of January
next, at 11 o'clock in the forenoon, at this office,
to hear the said application and all objections
thereto; and I require all persons having an interest
in opposing the grant of such Letters Patent to
leave, on or before the 8th day of January next, at
this office, particulars in writing of their objections
to the said application, otherwise they will be pre-
cluded from urging the same.

New Zealand Company's Land Claims.—Com-
missioner's Decision.

I, JAMES PILLANS MAITLAND, a Commissioner,
duly appointed by virtue of the Ordinance
No. 15, Session XI., of the Legislative Council of
the Islands of New Zealand, to hear and decide
claims to land by persons claiming title thereto from,
through, or under the New Zealand Company, report
that the claim of SAMUEL BLYTH, of Preston, Lan-
cashire, England, Gentleman, having been referred
to me by His Excellency the Governor, I do hereby

decide that the said Samuel Blyth is entitled to a
Crown grant of 1 rood, more or less, being Town
Section No. 18, Block III., City of Dunedin.
Dated at Dunedin, this 26th day of October, 1881.

New Zealand Company's Land Claims.—Com-
missioner's Decision.

I, JAMES PILLANS MAITLAND, a Commissioner,
duly appointed by virtue of the Ordinance
No. 15, Session XI. of the Legislative Council of the
Islands of New Zealand, to hear and decide claims to
land by persons claiming title thereto from, through,
or under the New Zealand Company, report that the
claim of SAMUEL BLYTH, of Preston, Lancashire,
England, Gentleman, having been referred to me by
His Excellency the Governor, I do hereby decide
that the said Samuel Blyth is entitled to a Crown
grant of 50 acres and 26 perches, more or less, being
Rural Section No. 6, Block L., Clutha District.
Dated at Dunedin, this 26th day of October, 1881.

under the provisions of "The Land Transfer Act,
1870," unless caveat be lodged forbidding the same
on or before the 10th day of December next.

    -98 acres 2 roods 32 perches, being parts 3 and 6 of
    Section 45 and Section 46, Wai-iti Hills, Waimea
    South District. Occupied by Applicants.

  2. FRANCIS DART FENTON, WALTER
    DOWDEN, and HENRY EDWARD WILLIAMS.
    -26 acres and 20 perches, western part Section 71,
    Suburban North District. Occupied by Isaac
    Harvey.

  3. WILLIAM DAYMAN.—13 perches, Allot-

    by Applicant.

  4. GEORGE HASLEM.— 2 roods, the
    southern half of Section 479, City of Nelson. Oc-
