NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT A WATER-
RACE.
To the Mining Registrar at Naseby, in the Mining
District of Mount Ida, in the Provincial District
of Otago, in the Colony of New Zealand, and to all
other persons whom it may concern..
I HEREBY give notice that it is my intention to
construct a Water-race for the purposes of irri-
gation, machinery, watering stock, and domestic
purposes, commencing at a point in the Eweburn,
between the short track from Naseby to Eden Creek
Hotel and the Government water-race, about half a
mile above said track and three-quarters of a mile
below the Government water-race, and terminating
on Section 17, Block II., Maniototo District, passing
through Section 18, Block II., Maniototo District,
held by Jacob Lory under agricultural lease, and
tenanted by John Lory, passing also through the
Mount Ida Pastoral Company's Run No. 206, Manio-
toto District, aforesaid.
Length of race, seven miles or thereabouts; mean
breath and depth, 2 feet by 10 inches; course of
race, south-east and north-west; time of construc-
tion, nine months; and it is proposed to divert two
heads of water.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT A WATER-
RACE.
Longwood District, 1st October, 1881.
To the Warden at Riverton.
W E hereby give notice that we intend to construct
a Water-race to divert and use water for mining
purposes, commencing at a point on the left-hand
branch of Dawson's Creek, about 5 chains above the
point where the water from head-race No. 6305,
known as Port's Race, is dropped into Dawson's
Creek, flowing thence in the bed of the creek to
Port's Dam, in Dawson's Creek; thence in head-race
No. 6305, and terminating at Specimen Gully, as
shown by the plan deposited in the Warden's office,
Riverton
The length of such race is 60 chains or there-
abouts, and its intended course is about east and
west. The mean depth of such race is as per bed of
the creek, and it is proposed to divert eight Govern-
ment-heads of water, viz., two heads out of Dawson's
Creek and six heads out of Gorge Creek, Longwood.

To the Warden at Takaka.
W E hereby give notice that we intend to construct
a Water-race to divert and use water for
mining purposes, commencing at a point at the head
of Coal Creek, and terminating at our claim, near
Rangeata.
The length of such race is two miles or thereabouts,
and its intended course is north-east. Time required
for construction and completion, three months. The
mean depth of such race is 1 foot, and the mean
breadth is 1 foot, and it is proposed to divert two
Government-heads of water.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT A WATER-
RACE.
Mount Ida, 6th October, 1881.
To the Mining Registrar at Naseby, in the Mount
Ida District, and to all others whom it may con-
cern.
I HEREBY give notice that I intend to construct
a Water-race to divert and use water for irriga-
tion, chaff-cutting, and domestic purposes, commencing
at a point in Coal Creek, on Run 205. I also give
notice that I intend to construct a dam for the
storage of water in connection with my water-race;
area, acre, situate on the hill to the west of Section
No. 15, Block II., Township of Hyde. From dam I
will cut a race, to use as a by-wash, on to Section No.
18, Block II., Township of Hyde. I also give notice
that I intend to construct a race from the said dam
to Section No. 14, Block II., 2 feet by 2 feet, to lay
down iron piping, and will be covered over when
completed. The reservoir is estimated to contain
60,000 gallons of water or thereabouts. I also
intend to construct a race from Section No. 14,
Block II., to the Hyde Main Gully, and the said
race will terminate opposite Sections Nos. 1 and 2,
Block III., Township of Hyde.
The length of such race is two miles or thereabouts,
and its intended course is north-east.
This race is already surveyed and constructed.
The site for the dam is also surveyed.
The mean depth of such race is 1 foot, and the
mean breadth is 1 foot; and it is proposed to divert
one Government-head of water.

Any person objecting to the granting of this ap-
plication must lodge his objection in writing at the
Warden's Office at Naseby, on or before the 7th day
of November, 1881.
