Timber from Helensville to Auckland Station will be charged 1s. 6d. per 100
superficial feet, including wharfage at Helensville, exclusive of loading or unloading.
Skidding kauri logs at Auckland, 1d. per 100 superficial feet.
HURUNUI-BLUFF SECTION.
PASSENGERS.
Ordinary Single Tickets from Lyttelton and Christchurch to Dunedin, and vice
versa, will be charged 44s. 6d. for first class and 30s. for second class.
WAIMEA PLAINS RAILWAY.
CLASS P.
A charge of 1s. per ton in addition to the classified rates will be made on all
goods of Class P consigned from Port Chalmers and stations south thereof to stations
on the Waimea Plains Railway, or vid this railway to Oreti and Kingston or inter-
mediate stations.
PART VI.—SPECIAL GOODS.
Under "The Public Works Act, 1876," the Governor is empowered to declare
certain descriptions of goods, or goods of beyond a certain value, to be "special
goods;" and unless such goods are declared by the consignors to be special goods,
and their value is stated in the consignment note, the Government is exempted from
all liability for their loss or damage beyond the following values, that is to say,—

The following have been declared to be special goods within the meaning of the
Act:—

Notes or securities for the

goods of a higher value
than £500.
Upon all special goods so declared an additional charge will be made of one-third
of the ordinary rate for every £100 or fraction of £100 of such declared value.
Any animal or package of a declared value of more than £500 will not be carried
except under a special contract.
