HIS Excellency the Administrator of the Govern-
ment has been pleased to disband
The Nelson (Port) Naval Volunteers.
The under-mentioned gentlemen therefore cease to
be officers in the Volunteer Force, their commissions
having lapsed under "The Volunteer Act, 1881:"-
William Hedley Drake, late Captain.
William Simpson, late Lieutenant.
Floyd Collins, late Honorary Surgeon.

Notice of Formation of Electoral Rolls.

Wellington, 20th October, 1881.

NOTICE is hereby given that in accordance with
section 8 of "The Representation Act, 1881,"
the Registrars of Electors of the under-named elec-
toral districts have given notice to the Colonial
Secretary that the new electoral rolls for such dis-
tricts are formed.

Those rolls are therefore the electoral rolls for the
respective districts from this date.

Application for Registration of a Trade Mark.

NOTICE is hereby given that EDWARD WATERS,
Patent Agent, of Melbourne, in the Colony of
Victoria, has applied, on behalf of REEVE AND COM-
PANY, of 114, Southampton Row, in the County of
Middlesex, England, Importers and Manufacturers
of American and English Specialities, to register,
under "The Trade Marks Act, 1866," the trade mark
of which the following is a description, viz. :--

Description of Trade Mark.

A label having a floral border. Within this border
are the following words: "Melrose Favorite Hair
Restorer, unequalled for restoring and beautifying

Notice of proposed Loan, Borough of Caversham.

THE following notice, received from his Worship
the Mayor of Caversham, is published in accord-
ance with section 145 of "The Municipal Corpora-
tions Act, 1876."

SIR, -I have the honor to inform you that, at a poll
taken on Saturday, the 1st October last, at the Town
Hall, Caversham, to decide whether the burgesses are
favourable or otherwise for the Council to borrow a
sum not to exceed three thousand pounds (£3,000)
sterling for the purpose of providing a water-supply
to the borough, the following number of votes were
recorded:---

For the proposal... ... ... 325
Against the proposal ... ... ... 9
Informal ... ... ... 1

As the number of votes in favour of the proposal
exceeds more than one-half of the total number of
burgesses on the roll, namely, 568, I have declared
the proposal carried.

Bonuses on Colonial Industries.

Wellington, 18th May, 1881.

NOTICE is hereby given that the following bonuses
will be paid on articles produced in the Colony
of New Zealand, as under:---

SUGAR.

A bonus of one thousand pounds (£1,000) will be
given for the production of the first 125 tons of sugar,
manufactured in New Zealand, from beet or any
other root or plant grown in the colony.

LINSEED OIL.

A bonus of five hundred pounds (£500) will be
given for the production, by machinery permanently
established in New Zealand, of the first ten thousand
(10,000) gallons of oil, of good marketable quality,
from linseed grown in the colony.

OIL CAKE.

A bonus of one hundred pounds (£100) will be
given for the production of the first fifty tons of oil
cake, of good marketable quality, from linseed grown
in the colony.

STARCH.

A bonus of three hundred pounds (£300) will be
given on the first fifty tons of starch, manufactured
in the colony, which shall be shipped to an English
market, and for which a satisfactory certificate shall
be given by dealers or brokers in England that the
starch is of good marketable quality.

SILK.

A bonus of fifty per cent. on the value realized
for the first thousand pounds' (£1,000) worth of
cocoons of the silkworm, or silkworms' eggs, pro-
duced in the colony, to be paid on quantities of not
