Changing Purpose of a Portion of a Reserve at
Rangiora.

JAMES PRENDERGAST,

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and au-
thorities conferred upon me by "The Special
Powers and Contracts Act, 1881," I, James Prender-
gast, Chief Justice of the Colony of New Zealand,
and Administrator of the Government thereof, do
hereby declare that, from and after the day of the
date hereof, the following piece or parcel of land in
the Rangiora Survey District, Provincial District of
Canterbury, containing by admeasurement 6 acres
and 23 perches, more or less, and described in the
Schedule hereto, is and shall be changed from a
gravel-pit reserve to a recreation-ground.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land being portion of
Reserve No. 94, containing 6 acres and 23 perches,
in the Rangiora Survey District, Provincial District
of Canturbury: as the same is more particularly
shown on the official map in the Survey Office,
Christchurch.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Administrator of the Government, this
eighteenth day of October, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-one.

Changing Purpose of a Reserve at Timaru.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities conferred upon me by "The Special
Powers and Contracts Act, 1881," I, James Prender-
gast, Chief Justice of the Colony of New Zealand,
and Administrator of the Government thereof, do
hereby declare that, from and after the day of the
date hereof, the following piece or parcel of land in
the Town of Timaru, Provincial District of Canter-
bury, containing by admeasurement five acres, more
or less, and described in the Schedule hereto, is and
shall be changed from a site for Provincial Govern-
ment buildings to an extension of the Timaru Public
Park.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land bounded Northward
by Queen Street; Westward by King Street; South-
ward and Eastward by Reserve No. 344, and being
Reserve No. 278: as the same is more particularly
shown on the official map in the Survey Office,
Christchurch.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Administrator of the Government, this
fifteenth day of October, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-one.

Exchange of Land in the Provincial District of
Canterbury.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-eighth
section of "The Land Act, 1877," power is
given to the Governor to exchange any land set apart
as a reserve for other land of equal value as he may
think fit, and to make a Crown grant thereof ac-
cordingly:

Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, Chief Jus-
tice of the Colony of New Zealand, and Adminis-
trator of the Government thereof, in exercise of the
powers and authorities vested in me by the said
Act, do hereby declare that the land mentioned in
the first column of the Schedule hereto shall be
exchanged for the land mentioned in the second
column of the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

Description and Purpose of Reserve Intended to be Exchanged. Description of Land to be Obtained in Exchange therefor.
Section No. 1429 (in red) in the Ashburton District, Provincial Dis- trict of Canterbury. For a gravel-pit. Described in the Provincial Govern- ment Gazette, dated 18th February, 1874, as con- taining 12 acres, and found on survey to con- tain 14 acres 3 roods 20 perches. Of which it is proposed to exchange 13 acres and 36 perches. Bounded-Northward by Sections Nos. 6811 and 16855, 1104 and 448 links respectively; East- ward by the Longbeach Road, 1012 links; South- ward by a line at right angles to the eastern boundary; and West- ward by Section No. 6812. All that parcel of land in the Hinds Survey District, Provincial District of Canterbury, containing 13 acres and 36 perches, more or less, being part of Section No. 8402. Bounded-Northward by Reserve No. 1429 (in red); Eastward by the Longbeach Road, 964 links; South- ward by a road-line; and Westward by Section No. 6812.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities conferred upon me by "The Special
Powers and Contracts Act, 1881," I, James Prender-
gast, Chief Justice of the Colony of New Zealand,
and Administrator of the Government thereof, do
hereby declare that, from and after the day of the
date hereof, the following piece or parcel of land in
the Town of Oamaru, Provincial District of Otago,
containing by admeasurement one rood, more or less,
and described in the Schedule hereto, is and shall be
changed from an educational reserve to a municipal
reserve; and that the same shall be and is hereby
vested in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of
the Town of Oamaru, who shall have power to deal
with the said reserve, in pursuance of the powers
