NOTICE is hereby given that the several parcels of land hereinafter described will be brought under the provisions of The Land Transfer Act, 1870, unless caveat be lodged forbidding the same on or before the 5th day of November next.

  1. EMMA FRANK.—2 roods 22 perches, parts of Sections 418 and 419, City of Nelson, commencing 389 links from junction of Hardy and Tasman Streets, fronting 295 links on Tasman Street, and extending easterly full depth of sections. Occupied by Applicant.

  2. JAMES AUSTIN TARR.—12 perches, part of Section 224, City of Nelson, commencing 117 links from junction of Bridge and Trafalgar Streets, fronting 80 links on Bridge Street, and extending northerly to a right-of-way there. Occupied by Miss Davis.

  3. CHARLES DE VERE TESCHEMACHER, CHARLES YATES FELL, and WILLIAM McGOWAN.—23 perches, part of Section 435, City of Nelson, commencing 130 links from junction of Hardy and Collingwood Streets, fronting 68 links on Collingwood Street, and extending easterly 216 links. Occupied by B. C. Roberts.

Mining Notices.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT A WATER-RACE.

Totara, 29th August, 1881.

To the Mining Registrar, Totara District.

WE hereby give notice that we intend to construct a Water-race to divert and use water for the purpose of driving machinery for a saw-mill, commencing at the forks of Granite Creek, about 80 chains above the Ross and Hokitika Road, and terminating at the Granite Creek Company’s Saw-mill, 3 chains below the Ross and Hokitika Road, Granite Creek.

The length of such race is half a mile or thereabouts, and its intended course is east and west nearly. Time required for construction and completion, eight weeks.

The mean depth of such race is 1 foot 6 inches, and the mean breadth is 2 feet; and it is proposed to divert four Government-heads of water.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT A WATER-RACE.

Otara, 12th September, 1881.

To the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Dunedin.

I HEREBY give notice that I intend to construct or use a Water-race to divert and use water for mining purposes, commencing at a point about 60 chains east-north-east of Trig. Station F, Otara District, and terminating at the gold-workings now being worked by me, about 25 chains north-north-west of the said Trig. Station F.

The length of such race is 75 chains or thereabouts, and its intended course is westerly.

The mean depth and breadth of such race is 3 feet and 2 feet 6 inches respectively, and it is proposed to divert 2½ Government-heads of water.

The mean depth and breadth of such race is 3 feet and 2½ feet respectively, and it is proposed to divert 2½ Government-heads of water.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO USE DAMS.

Otara, 12th September, 1881.

To the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Dunedin.

I HEREBY give notice that I intend to use three dams constructed by me in Otara District, and to apply for a license to use the same. Area, 1 acre each.

The first of these dams is situated about 15 chains north of Trig. Station F, Otara District; the second is 25 chains north of the same point; and the third 25 chains north-east of the same point.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Directors of the above Company, at a meeting held on Monday, the 1st ultimo, decided that a Call be made on this the 24th day of September, 1881, of 6d. per ordinary share; and that the same is payable at the Registered Office of the Company, Ballarat Street, Queenstown, on Wednesday, the 12th day of October, 1881; and said call is hereby made accordingly.
