Proclamation reducing Jurisdiction of Resident
Magistrate's Court for the Okarito District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the twenty-second section of "The
Resident Magistrates Act, 1867," it is enacted
that it shall be lawful for the Governor, by Proclama-
tion in the New Zealand Gazette, at any time to
abolish the extended jurisdiction which he is by the
said Act authorized to confer upon any Resident
Magistrate's Court: And whereas by a Proclamation
bearing date the second day of February, one thousand
eight hundred and sixty-eight, the limit of jurisdiction
of the Resident Magistrate's Court hereinafter men-
tioned was extended to one hundred pounds: And
whereas it is expedient to abolish the extended juris-
diction given to the said Court by the said Proclama-
tion, and to declare that the limit of jurisdiction of
the said Court shall be extended to fifty pounds:
Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Admin-
istrator of the Government of the Colony of New
Zealand, do hereby, in pursuance of the power and
authority vested in me by the said Act, proclaim and
declare that, on and after the first day of October
next, the extended jurisdiction so given as aforesaid
to the Resident Magistrate's Court for
THE OKARITO DISTRICT
shall be abolished, and that, from and after the said
first day of October, the jurisdiction of the said
Court shall be extended to fifty pounds.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir
James Prendergast, Chief Justice, the
Administrator of the Government of Her
Majesty's Colony of New Zealand; and
issued under the Seal of the said Colony,
at the Government House at Wellington,
this fifteenth day of September, in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-one.

Extending Time for Preparing County Roll, County
of Amuri.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-second day of September, 1881.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE
GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it has been made to appear that
certain things required to be done by "The
Counties Act, 1876," in connection with the making
and revision of the county roll of the County of
Amuri, cannot be done by or within the times
required by the said Act:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator
of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand,
in exercise of the power and authority vested in him
by the two hundred and eleventh section of the said
Act, and by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby
extend the time for the doing of the said things in
connection with the county roll of the said County
of Amuri, and doth declare that the time for the
doing of such several things shall be those which are
specified in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
- For the preparation of the county roll: On or
before the 23rd September, 1881. - Roll shall be open for inspection, and objections
thereto received: From the 24th September, 1881,
to the 8th October, 1881. - Day appointed for revision of roll: Some day
on or after the 9th October, 1881; but Revision
Court shall not sit after the 31st October, 1881. - Roll shall come into force: On the 8th Novem-
ber, 1881.
