measurement 2 acres 2 roods 10 perches, more or
less, being part of Rural Allotment No. 475 (educa-
tion reserve), commencing at Peg numbered L., at
the north-east corner of Section No. 27, Kakaramea
Township. Bounded—North-easterly by lines. 765,
and 1920 links respectively, to the Kakaramea Road;
North-westerly by said road, 101 links; South-
westerly by lines 1872 and 411 links respectively
to the north-west corner of Town Section No. 25,
and by Town Sections Nos. 25, 26, and 27, 375 links,
to commencing point.
All the above measurements being either more or
less; the several parcels of land described being
situate within the Provincial District of Taranaki,
Colony of New Zealand, and are more particularly
delineated upon the plan marked P.W.D. 8314,
deposited in the office of the Minister for Public
Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of
Wellington.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Honorable Arthur Hamilton Gordon,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Her Majesty's High
Commissioner for the Western Pacific,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
third day of September, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-one.

trict, Otago.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule
hereto is required to be taken under "The
Public Works Act, 1876," and "The Public Works
Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1878," for a certain work,
to wit, the construction of a road through Sections
twenty-three, twenty-four, twenty-five, twenty-six,
twenty-seven (z), twenty-seven, twenty-eight, seventy-
eight, and two of nineteen, Block two, Peninsula Dis-
trict, Provincial District of Otago :
And whereas the Portobello Road Board has laid
before the Governor the memorial and map men-
tioned in and signed and certified as required by the
said Acts:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said colony, in exercise and pursuance of the
powers and authorities in me vested by sections
twenty-one, twenty-two, twenty-three, twenty-four,
and twenty-five of "The Public Works Act, 1876,"
and by section twenty-eight of "The Public Works
Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1878," and of any other
power and authority enabling me in that behalf, do
hereby proclaim and declare that the land described
in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the
purposes of a road; and that, from and after the
eighth day of September, one thousand eight hun-
dred and eighty-one, the land so described shall
become absolutely vested in fee-simple in Her
Majesty, discharged from all mortgages, charges,
claims, estates, and interests of what kind soever, for
use as a road.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area of land in the Provincial District of
Otago, and Colony of New Zealand, containing by
admeasurement 2 acres 2 roods 35.8 perches, being a
road-line through Sections 23, 24, 25, 26, 27z, 27, 28,
78, and 2 of 19, Block II., Otago Peninsula District.
