NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE

Quarantine Station appointed, Bay of Islands.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by "The Public Health Act, 1876,"
it is, among other things, enacted that the
Governor may from time to time, by any order
notified by Proclamation in the Gazette, appoint
certain stations within or near any harbour or place
within New Zealand for the performance of quaran-
tine, under the Third Part of the said Act, where all
vessels liable to quarantine, and the crews, passengers,
and persons on board thereof shall perform the same:
And whereas it is expedient that the place herein-
after particularly mentioned should be appointed a
quarantine station for the purposes in the said Act
mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pur-
suance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in me for that purpose, do by this Proclama-
tion order and appoint that the place named and
described in the Schedule hereto shall be, and the
same is hereby appointed to be, a station for the
performance of quarantine under the Third Part of
"The Public Health Act, 1876."
SCHEDULE.
ALL that part of Waikari Inlet, in the harbour of the
Bay of Islands, lying to the east of a line due north
from the westernmost point of Waikari Island,
together with the whole area of the said Waikari
Island.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Honorable Arthur Hamilton Gordon,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Her Majesty's High
Commissioner for the Western Pacific,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-second day of August, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-one.

Declaring "Regulation of Local Elections Act, 1876,"
in force within the Christchurch Drainage Dis-
trict.

A PROCLAMATION.
BY virtue of the power vested in me by the third
section of "The Regulation of Local Elections
Act, 1876," I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim
and declare that the said Act shall come into force,
in respect of all the elective offices of the Christ-
church Drainage Board, within the District known
as the Christchurch Drainage District.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Honorable Arthur Hamilton Gordon,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-

Saint George, Her Majesty's High
