by lot amongst the applicants only; and if there
should be more than one application for any allot-
ment in Schedule II. offered for deferred payments,
the right to occupy the same shall be determined by
lot amongst the applicants.
8 Each applicant for a deferred-payment section
in Schedule II. will be required to make the declara-
tion prescribed by section sixty-two of "The Land
Act, 1877," and shall at the time of application
deposit with the Receiver of Land Revenue for the
Southland Land District one-tenth of the price of
the allotment. Such payment shall be deemed to be
a discharge of the license-fee for the six months due
on the first day of January, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-two.
9. The purchaser of any lands described in Sche-
dule I., upon the full payment of the purchase-
money, and the purchaser of any lands described in
Schedule II., upon the like payment, and also the
fulfilment of the terms and conditions prescribed by
"The Land Act, 1877," and "The Land Act 1877
Amendment Act, 1879," relating to land on deferred
payments, will be entitled to his Crown grant, to be
issued in the usual way upon payment of the fees
prescribed by law.

Fixing Date of Sitting of Court of Appeal.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
eighth day of August, 1881.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by "The Court of Appeal Act, 1862,"
and "The Court of Appeal Act Amendment
Act, 1870," it is enacted that the Court shall hold its
sittings at such times and places as shall be from
time to time fixed by the Governor in Council, and
proclaimed in the Government Gazette thirty days at
least before the times so fixed respectively:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, doth hereby fix that a sitting of the Court of
Appeal of New Zealand shall be held within the New
Supreme Courthouse, in the City of Wellington, upon
the fourteenth day of November, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-one, at eleven o'clock in the
forenoon.

Exchange of Land in the Provincial District of
Canterbury.

ARTHUR GORDON, Governor.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-eighth
section of "The Land Act, 1877," power is
given to the Governor to exchange any land set apart
as a reserve for other land of equal value as he may
think fit, and to make a Crown grant thereof ac-
cordingly:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said
Act, do hereby declare that the land mentioned in
the first column of the Schedule hereto shall be ex-
changed for the land mentioned in the second column
of the said Schedule.
