in the North Island.

one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
one.

IN pursuance of the provisions of "The Government
Native Land Purchases Act, 1877," it is hereby
notified that money has been paid by or on behalf of
Her Majesty the Queen for the purchase or acquisi-
tion of the several Native estates in the North Island
which are more particularly described and mentioned
in the Schedule hereto; and, further, that negotia-
tions in respect of such purchases or acquisitions as
aforesaid have been entered into by or on behalf of
Her said Majesty.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to
appoint
Sergeant RICHARD SAUNDERSON
to be an Inspector of Weights and Measures for
the Counties of Marlborough and Sounds and the
Boroughs of Picton and Blenheim, vice Sergeant J.
Cullen, transferred.

SCHEDULE.
HAUTURU OR LITTLE BARRIER ISLAND.
ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 6,960 acres, more or less, known as
Hauturu or Little Barrier Island, situate in the
Little Barrier Survey District, in the Provincial Dis-
trict of Auckland. Bounded on all sides by the
waters of the Hauraki Gulf.
Public Vaccinator appointed, Matakana.

IT is hereby notified that, under the provisions of
"The Public Health Act, 1876," His Excellency
the Governor has been pleased to appoint
CHARLES NAPIER MCMURDO, Esq.,
to be a Public Vaccinator for the District of Mata-
kana, to perform gratuitous vaccination in accord-
ance with the provisions of the said Act and any
regulations made or to be made thereunder.

WAIRARAPA LAKE SOUTH.
Situate in the District of Wairarapa, in the Pro-
vincial District of Wellington. Boundaries: Com-
mencing at the mouth of Okorewa (lower lake),
extending to Kiriwai; thence to Pounui, thence to
Matarua, thence to Tahunakaroro, thence to Peke-
houia, thence diverging and running through the
lake (upper) until reaching Tuakipuku, thence to
Te-Here-a-te-koreke, thence to Kariwahine, thence
to Mataitoke, thence in a southerly direction to Te
Rere, thence to Mihirau, thence to Tumuku, thence
to Whakahauhau, thence to Turanganui, thence to
Rautoka, thence to Te Rere-a-te-Mahoa, terminating
at Okorewa.

vincial District of Wellington. Boundaries: Com-
mencing at Tuakipuku, thence to Waiaruhe, thence
to Tukairua, thence to Rukumoko, to Puriri, to
Makakahi, to Otekenga, to Awa a Pohatu, to Te
Awatupu; thence to Kahapahapa, thence along
Atuawhai, thence to Ahinengatira, thence falling
into Otauira, thence along the lake in a southerly
direction until reaching Wangapohatu and Tipua,
thence to Paporoporo, thence to Pekehouia, thence
Clerk of Resident Magistrate's Court, &c., appointed.
