ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-fifth day of July, 1881.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule
hereto was reserved for a public abattoir:
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is
expedient to vest the said land in the Chairman,
Councillors, and inhabitants of the County of
Inangahua:
Now, therefore, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said colony, and in
exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him
by the sixth section of "The Public Reserves Act
Amendment Act, 1878," doth hereby declare that, from
and after the day of the date hereof, the said reserve
shall become vested in the said Chairman, Councillors,
and inhabitants of the County of Inangahua.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land containing by admeasurement
19 acres, more or less, being Section No. 251, Square
131, at Reefton, in the Provincial District of Nelson.
Bounded on the North by Section No. 134, 2500
links, and by Section No. 133, 1450 links; towards
the South by an overflow of the Inangahua River;
and on the West by Section No. 130A, 415 links.

Governor, this twentieth day of July, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-one.

Exchange of Land in the Provincial District of
Canterbury.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-eighth
section of "The Land Act, 1877," power is
given to the Governor to exchange any land set apart
as a reserve for other land of equal value as he may
think fit, and to make a Crown grant thereof ac-
cordingly:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said
Act, do hereby declare that the land mentioned in
the first column of the Schedule hereto shall be ex-
changed for the land mentioned in the second column
of the said Schedule.

land in the Hawkins Survey District,
Provincial District of Canterbury,
containing together 105 acres 1 rood
24 perches, more or less, and boun-
ded respectively as follows: -
35 acres 2 roods 23 perches, more
or less, being part of Section No.
26409. Bounded-Westward by the
road forming the western boundary
of that section; Northward and
Southward by the northern and
southern boundaries thereof; and
Eastward by a line parallel to the
western boundary, and 1315 links
distant therefrom.
33 acres 2 roods 27 perches, more
or less, being part of Section No.
26610. Bounded-Westward by the
road forming the western boundary
of that section; Northward by Sec-
tion No. 26425; Southward by Sec-
tion No. 27204; and Eastward by a
line parallel to the western boun-
dary, and 1315 links distant there-
from.
36 acres and 14 perches, more or
less, being part of Section No. 27204.
Bounded-Westward by the road
forming the western boundary of
that section; Northward and South-
ward by lines parallel to and 3 chains
distant from the northern and
southern boundaries thereof respec-
tively; and Eastward by a line
parallel to the western boundary,
and 1815 links distant therefrom.
Authorizing the taking and laying down of Roads
over Native Land in the Wellington Provincial
District.

IN N exercise and pursuance of all powers and au-
thorities enabling me in this behalf by "The
Native Lands Act, 1873," "The Native Land Act
Amendment Act, 1878 (No. 2)," and "The Public
Works Act, 1880," I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
authorize
FRANK WILLIAM KNOWLES, Esquire,
District Surveyor, of Wellington, to take and lay down
roads over the lands specified in the Schedule hereto,
and for that purpose to exercise all such powers as
by the said Acts may be exercised by a person legally
authorized in that behalf under the said Acts.
