NOTE.—The populations of the counties and boroughs, if added together, will not make up the total population of the
colony, as shown in Table I. The persons on shipboard, and the population of certain islands which do not belong to
counties or boroughs, represent the difference. All these are included in Table I., which shows the total for the colony
given in provincial districts.

Land Transfer Act Notices.

NOTICE is hereby given that the several parcels
of land hereinafter described will be brought
under the provisions of "The Land Transfer Act,
1870," unless caveat be lodged forbidding the same
on or before the 23rd day of July, 1881.

  1. JOHN WILLIAM PEAKE, WILLIAM
    McWILLIAM, and GREGOR MCLEOD.—24
    perches, part of Sections 190 and 191, Town of
    Wanganui. In occupation of Robert McLean.

  2. ALEXANDER MCHARDIE and JAMES
    MCHARDIE.—106 acres, part of Section 10 of
    Block IV., Rangitikei District. In occupation of
    Alexander McHardie.

Diagrams may be inspected at this office.
Dated this 16th day of June, 1881, at the Lands
Registry Office, Wellington.

TRANSMISSION, No. 415.—Notice is hereby
given that LEONARD HARPER, of Christ-
church, Barrister-at-Law, and EDWARD LOUIS
CLOGSTOUN, of Christchurch, Esquire, claiming
as Devisees of the real estate of JOHN WILLOUGHBY
MALLOCK, late of Heathstock, Canterbury, Sheep-
farmer, have applied to be registered as Proprietors
of one equal undivided fourth part or share of and in
323 acres of land, situated in the County of Ashley,
and being Rural Sections Nos. 29457, 29458, 29460,
29461, 31231, and 31665; and that they will be so
registered, unless caveat forbidding the same be
lodged within one month after the date of the
Gazette containing this notice.

Dated this 9th day of June, 1881, at the Lands
Registry Office, Christchurch.
