North-west by the Kauaeranga Block and a line,
17840 links, to the point of commencement: be all
the aforesaid linkages more or less. For the growth
and preservation of timber.
All that piece or parcel of land situated in Blocks
V. and VIII., Opuawhanga Survey District, Pro-
vincial District of Auckland, and containing by ad-
measurement 2,195 acres, more or less. Bounded
towards the North by a line, 3900 links; thence
generally towards the East by the Te Wai Rahi
Native Reserve, 11051 links; thence again generally
towards the North by the Te Wai Rahi Native
Reserve aforesaid, 10436 links; thence again towards
the East by a line, 15000 links; thence towards the
South by a line, 10000 links; thence towards the
West by a line, 8000 links; thence towards the South
by a line, 6000 links; thence again towards the West
by a line, 14000 links, to the point of commence-
ment: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.
For the growth and preservation of timber.
All that piece or parcel of land situated in Block
XI., Purua Survey District, Provincial District of
Auckland, and containing by admeasurement 1,580
acres, more or less. Bounded towards the North-
east by Lots Nos. 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 of the Parish of
Kaitara No. 2, 9100 links; towards the North-west
by Lot No. 6 of the aforesaid parish, 2800 links;
again towards the North-east by the Tai Koia Block,
4100 links; towards the East by a line, 11900 links;
towards the South by a line, 3625 links; towards the
South-west by Lots Nos. 28, 27, and 26 of the Parish
of Kaitara No. 2 aforesaid, 4000, 3030, and 2910
links respectively; and towards the West by a line,
11750 links, to the point of commencement: be
all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For the
growth and preservation of timber.

Changing the Purpose of a Portion of a Reserve.
ARTHUR GORDON, Governor.
WHEREAS by "The Public Reserves Act Amend-
ment Act, 1878," it is, amongst other things,
enacted that the Governor may declare his intention
to make, change, exchange, or alter the dedication of
any public reserve now or hereafter vested in Her
Majesty or the Governor for any of the purposes
named in Part II. of the Schedule to the said Act,
whether the same be granted or not; and, in the case
of any reserves made under the authority of section
one hundred and forty-four of "The Land Act,
1877," if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be
expedient to change the purpose of such reserves or
any part thereof from the purpose or presumed pur-
pose for which it was set apart to any other purpose,
or if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be
expedient to exchange any of the land comprised in
such reserve for other land of equal value, to be
dedicated to one or more purposes named in the said
Part II., the Governor may, by notice in the Gazette,
declare his intention to make such change, exchange,
or dedication, as the case may be, and in such notice
declare the manner and terms in which the same is
intended to be so made:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby,
in exercise and pursuance of the powers and autho-

rities vested in me by "The Public Reserves Act
Amendment Act, 1878," aforesaid, give notice of my
intention to change the specific purpose of that
portion of the reserve mentioned in the first column
of the Schedule hereto, and which is described in the
second column of the said Schedule, to the specific
purpose set opposite such description in the third
column of the said Schedule, and such land shall
henceforth be deemed to be reserved and set apart
for such last-mentioned specific purpose, and no
other.
