PART III.—GOODS—continued.

GENERAL REGULATIONS.

All goods specified in Part VII. and not otherwise provided for in Parts II., IV.,
and V., will be charged in accordance with the classified rates in the above table, but
subject to the following conditions and regulations, and with the following exceptions,
viz.:—

Class A, B, C, and D.
Where goods of Classes A, B, C, and D are consigned to Christchurch, Dunedin,
and Invercargill, the classified rates will be increased as follows, viz.:---

To Christchurch by ... ... ... 1 5 per ton.
To Dunedin by ... ... ... 1 1 ”
To Invercargill by ... ... ... 1 4 ”

But such increase will not be made when the goods are consigned to private
sidings at these stations.
Goods from different consignors to one consignee, or from one consignor to
different consignees, will be charged separately.
Fractions of a cwt. will be charged as a cwt. on all lots not exceeding 4 cwt.
Any number of packages from one consignor to one consignee will be charged
separately or as one consignment of the highest class to which either of them
belongs.

SCALE FOR SMALL LOTS.
Goods of Classes A, B, C, and D will be charged according to scale below, unless
the charge at classified rate per ton amounts to more.

Any number of packages from one consignor to one consignee will be charged
separately, or as one consignment of the highest class to which either of them
belongs.

In computing the charges on small lots of Classes A, B, C, and D, consigned to
Christchurch, Dunedin, and Invercargill, the classified rates will be increased as
follows:-

To Christchurch by ... ... ... 1 5 per ton

” Invercargill by ... ... ... 1 4 ”

Class E.—Agricultural Produce.
Minimum quantity, 2 tons. Any less quantity will be charged as such minimum,
or as Class D.
At all stations except Auckland, Onehunga, Spit, Wellington, Foxton, Wanganui,
Waitara, Greymouth, Westport, Nelson Port, Piston, Blenheim, Lyttelton, Christ-
church, Timaru, Oamaru, Port Chalmers, Dunedin, Invercargill, and the Bluff, the
loading and unloading into and from the trucks may be done by the owners.
When so done, or when loaded into the shed owing to trucks not being available
after reasonable notice is given, the classified rates only will be charged.
When loading or unloading is done by the Railway Department at stations, 6d.
per ton in addition to the classified rate will be charged for each operation.
At all private stores and sidings the loading or unloading shall be done by the
owners.
Class E ex ship will be charged as Class D.
