Extending Boundaries of Borough of Invercargill.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the twenty-fifth section of "The
Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," it is
enacted that the Governor may, by Proclamation,
incorporate into a borough any district adjacent
thereto not being part of an existing borough,
subject to certain conditions therein particularly
specified: And whereas the Governor did, on the
fourteenth day of February, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-one, cause a notice setting forth
the boundaries of the district described in the First
Schedule hereto to be published in the Borough of
Invercargill and in the said district that it was pro-
posed to incorporate into the aforesaid borough the
said district: And whereas two months have elapsed
since the fourteenth day of February, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-one, above-mentioned, and
no petition has been presented to the Governor pray-
ing that such district or part thereof should not be
incorporated into the said borough:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
of the powers and authorities vested in me by the
said "Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," and of
every other power and authority in that behalf
me enabling, do hereby proclaim and declare that the
district the boundaries whereof are specified in the
First Schedule hereto is hereby incorporated into the
Borough of Invercargill and added to the North
Ward of the said borough, and that the boundaries
of the said borough shall be those described in the
Second Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Otago, containing 200 acres, more or less, being
Section No. 22 of Block I., Invercargill Hundred;
and bounded on the North by Section No. 24 of said

block, 914 links, and Section No. 23 of aforesaid
block, 3079 links; on the East by a public road,
5008 links; on the South by a public road, 3993
links; and on the West by a public road, 5008
links.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing by admeasurement 1,003 acres, more or
less; and bounded towards the North from the
Waihopai Estuary, at a point in line with the
southern boundary of Section No. 27 of Block I.,
Invercargill Hundred, by three road-lines, and by said
Section No. 27; towards the West by said section,
by the Borough of Avenal, and by Section No. 29;
again towards the North by the Borough of Glad-
stone; towards the East by the Borough of North
Invercargill, the Borough of East Invercargill, Block
I. of Invercargill Hundred, and the Borough of South
Invercargill; towards the South by Block III. of
said hundred; and towards the West by the Wai-
hopai Estuary to the starting point: as the same is
delineated on the plan deposited in the District
Survey Office, Invercargill.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Honorable Arthur Hamilton Gordon,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Her Majesty's High
Commissioner for the Western Pacific,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
tenth day of May, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-one.
