Crown Lands Notices.

Changing Purpose of Reserve No. 204, Kakaramea.

General Crown Lands Office,
Wellington, 20th April, 1881.

IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the
Governor intends, under the provisions of
section 8 of "The Public Reserves Act, 1878," to
change the specific purpose of the land described in
the second column of the Schedule hereto for which
the land was heretofore set apart as a reserve, as
specified in the first column of the said Schedule, to
the specific purposes specified in the third column of
the said Schedule.

Immediately after the above sale a license, under
clause 149 of "The Land Act, 1877," to authorize
the occupation of Motuara Island, Queen Charlotte
Sound, estimated to contain 185 acres, will be put
up to auction at the upset annual rent of £3. The
first year's rent to be paid at auction, and subsequent
rent to be paid on every succeeding 1st July and 2nd
January during the continuance of the license. If
any portion of the rent shall remain unpaid for six
months after the same becomes due the license to be
ipso facto forfeited.

Section No. 204, Ka- karamea, Provincial Dis- trict of Taranaki. Re- served for General Go- vernment purposes. (See New Zealand Gazette No. 46, of the 19th August, 1871, page 410.) All that area in the Pro- vincial District of Taranaki, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 11 perches, more or less, being Section No. 204, in the Kakaramea Township, and bounded as follows: To- wards the North-east by Ford Street, 285 links; towards the South-east by Section No. 205, 172 links; towards the South-west by South Road, 243 links; and towards the North-west by an education reserve, 78 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the District Survey Office, New Plymouth. For a site for a public library and institute.

IT is hereby notified that the blocks of land speci-
fied in the Schedule hereunder written will, sub-
ject to the terms and conditions hereinafter men-
tioned, be offered for lease by public auction, at this
office, on Tuesday, the 17th day of May, 1881, at the
hour of 11 o'clock in the forenoon.

Conditions: Terms of lease, 14 years. Rent pay-
able yearly, in advance. Lessee to have no right to
cut or remove timber for other than purely domestic
purposes, or to assign his lease without the written
consent of the Minister of Lands first had and
obtained.

NOTE.—Plans may be seen, and further particulars
of the lands obtained, on application at this office,
and at all the principal land offices throughout the
colony.

Sale of Crown Lands, Marlborough.

THE Land Board of the Marlborough Land Dis-
trict hereby notifies that the town and suburban
lands hereinafter mentioned will be offered for sale,
by public auction, at the Survey Office, Blenheim, at
noon on Tuesday, the 31st May, 1881.

One-fourth of the purchase-money must be paid at
the auction, and the balance within one month, or the
amount of such payment will be forfeited. A deposit
for each section must be paid at the time of comple-
tion of the purchase, to cover the Crown-grant fee.

every lawful day thereafter until sold, at the Land
Offices, Carlyle and Hawera.
