PURSUANT to the provisions of an Act of the
General Assembly of New Zealand, passed in
the forty-fourth year of the reign of Her Majesty
Queen Victoria, and intituled "The Marriage Act,
1880," the following names of Officiating Ministers
within the meaning of the said Act are published for
general information:--

appointed.

NOTICE. - JOHN HERBERT HANKINS, of Foxton,
in the District of Wellington, in the Colony
of New Zealand, a Solicitor of the Supreme Court
of the said colony, has been appointed by his Honor
the Chief Justice a Commissioner of the Supreme
Court of New Zealand, under the fourteenth section
of "The Conveyancing Ordinance Amendment Act,
1860," for the purpose of taking acknowledgments
of married women under any Act or law in force in
the Colony of New Zealand requiring such acknow-
ledgments to be made or taken.

NOTICE. - THOMAS PHELPS, of London, England,
a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Judicature
in England, has been appointed by his Honor the
Chief Justice a Commissioner of the Supreme Court
of New Zealand, in England, under the second
section of "The Commissioners of the Supreme
Court Act, 1875," for the purpose of administering
and taking all such oaths, affidavits, and affirmations
as in the said section mentioned.

NOTICE. - GRIFFITH EVAN RUSSELL JONES, of
Sydney, in the Colony of New South Wales, a
Solicitor of the Supreme Court of the said colony,
has been appointed by his Honor the Chief Justice
a Commissioner of the Supreme Court of New Zea-
land, in the said colony, under the second section
of "The Commissioners of the Supreme Court Act,
1875," for the purpose of taking and administering
all such oaths, affidavits, and affirmations as in the
said section mentioned.

"The Education Reserves Act, 1877."

IN exercise of the powers and authorities vested in
them by "The Education Reserves Act, 1877,"
the School Commissioners for the Canterbury Pro-
vincial District have, by resolution dated the 12th
day of April, 1881, appropriated and set apart the
several parcels of land hereinafter respectively
described as sites for public schools.

Two acres 2 roods, more or less, in the Grey Survey
District, Provincial District of Canterbury, being part
of Education Reserve No. 1152 (in red). Bounded
-Southward by the Heathstock and Horsley Downs
Road; Eastward by the eastern boundary-line of
Reserve No. 1152 (in red), 625 links; Northward by
a line at right angles to the last-mentioned boundary,
300 links; and Westward by a line parallel thereto.

Ten acres, more or less, in the Westerfield Survey
District, Provincial District of Canterbury, being
part of Education Reserve No. 1550 (in red).
Bounded-Westward by the road forming the western
boundary of the said reserve, 924 links; Northward
by the road leading to "Poole's"; Southward by a
line at right angles to the western boundary, 1,000
links; and Eastward by a line parallel thereto.

Five acres, more or less, in the Geraldine Survey
District, Provincial District of Canterbury, being
part of Education Reserve No. 1199 (in red).
Bounded - Northward by the road forming the
northern boundary of the said reserve, 1000 links;
Eastward by a line at right angles thereto drawn from
a point on the said northern boundary 40 chains
distant from the north-eastern corner of Section No.
12920; and Southward and Westward by lines
parallel to the northern and eastern boundaries re-
spectively.

Changing Purpose of Reserve No. 204, Kakarameรค.

General Crown Lands Office,
Wellington, 20th April, 1881.

IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the
Governor intends, under the provisions of
section 8 of "The Public Reserves Act, 1878," to
change the specific purpose of the land described in
the second column of the Schedule hereto for which
the land was heretofore set apart as a reserve, as
specified in the first column of the said Schedule, to
the specific purposes specified in the third column of
the said Schedule.
