Proposed Loan, Borough of Roxburgh.

Colonial Secretary's Office,
Wellington, 27th April, 1881.

THE following notice, received from his Worship
the Mayor of Roxburgh, is published in ac-
cordance with section 145 of "The Municipal Cor-
porations Act, 1876."

THOMAS DICK.

BOROUGH OF ROXBURGH.

PROPOSAL to raise a special loan of five hundred
pounds for the purpose of constructing a small
filtering reservoir and to conduct the water therefrom
by water-pipes extending along Scotland Street, and
to pledge as security for repayment of the proposed
loan rents of endowments and reserves, licenses,
rates (and special rates if necessary), also the water-
works when completed.

Notice is hereby given that a poll was taken on
the 19th day of April, 1881, and that the number of
votes recorded exceeded the one-half of the total
number of burgesses. I did, therefore, declare the
resolution carried.
Dated at Roxburgh, this 19th day of April, 1881.

JAMES BEIGHTON,
Mayor.

Bonus for Butter, Cheese, and Meat.

Colonial Secretary's Office,
Wellington, 20th April, 1881.

A BONUS of £500 will be given for the first 25
tons of butter or the first 50 tons of cheese
(produced in a factory worked on the American
principle, and to which factory any farmer, subject
to certain conditions, may send his milk), which
shall be exported from New Zealand, and sold at
such prices in a foreign market as shall show that
the articles are of fair quality.
