from time to time alter, amend, or revoke any such
Proclamation:
And whereas the Land Board of Westland did,
on the sixth day of April, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-one, pass a resolution recom-
mending that the land described in the Schedule
hereto annexed should be set apart for sale on
deferred payments:
And whereas it is expedient to give effect to the
aforesaid recommendation, and to set apart the said
land accordingly:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pur-
suance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in me by the above-named Act, do, hereby
proclaim and declare that the land described in the
Schedule hereto is set apart for sale on deferred
payments; and that Thursday, the ninth day of
June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-one,
shall be the day on which the said land shall be open
for application at the Land Office at Hokitika, as
surveyed and marked on the selection maps in that
office.
And, further, in pursuance of the fifth section of
"The Land Act 1877 Amendment. Act, 1879," I do,
hereby fix the price at which the land so described
shall be sold to be the price-set opposite the same.

SCHEDULE.
OTIRA DISTRICT.

ALL those pieces or parcels of land containing 200
acres, more or less, being deferred-payment Blocks
V., X., and XI., on the map of the Otira Survey
District. Bounded towards the North-west by the
road along the east side of the Otira River, and
extending back from the said road a depth of 40 chains,
with a width of 50 chains, and including position of
former Reserve No. 427: exclusive of all rights
under "The Mines Act, 1877." Upset price, ยฃ1 5s.
per acre.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Honorable Arthur Hamilton Gordon,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Her Majesty's High
Commissioner for the Western Pacific,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-seventh day of April, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-one.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the fifty-third section of "The
Land Act, 1877," it is enacted that the
Governor, by Proclamation in the Gazette, may from
time to time set apart out of any suburban or rural
lands such blocks or allotments of land as he shall
think fit, and set the same aside for sale on deferred
payments, and in such Proclamation may fix a day
on which the land shall be open for application; and
that he may also in like manner set apart for sale on
deferred payments such blocks or allotments as may
be recommended by any Land Board, and may also
from time to time alter, amend, or revoke any such
Proclamation:
And whereas the Land Board of Otago did, on the
thirty-first day of March, one thousand eight hun-
dred and eighty-one, pass a resolution recommending
that the land described in the Schedule hereto an-
nexed should be set apart for sale on deferred pay-
ments:
And whereas it is expedient to give effect to the
aforesaid recommendation, and to set apart the said

ment in the Schedule hereto.
