Changing Purpose of a Reserve, in the Township of
Hawera.

I T is hereby notified that His Excellency the
Governor intends, under the provisions of sec-
tion 8 of "The Public Reserves Act Amendment Act,
1878," to change the specific purpose of the land
described in the second column of the Schedule
hereto for which the land was heretofore set apart as
a reserve, as specified in the first column of the said
Schedule, to the specific purpose specified in the third
column of the said Schedule.

Land in the Wellington District taken for a Public
Road.

I T is hereby notified that the piece of land herein-
after described has been taken for a public road
under a warrant of His Excellency the Governor of
New Zealand, dated the 25th day of March, 1881,
and that the said road is open for public use.
DESCRIPTION OF ROAD.
ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Wellington, containing by admeasurement 3 acres
and 27 perches, more or less, being a road-line 100
links wide, the middle of which commences on the
eastern boundary of Upokongaro No. 2, about 200
links south of the southern boundary of the Wai-
matao Block; and extends thence westerly for about
3230 links till it joins the road running northerly in
the Upokongaro Valley.

Sale of Crown Lands, Marlborough.
T HE Land Board of the Marlborough Land Dis-
trict hereby notifies that the town and suburban
lands hereinafter mentioned will be offered for sale,
by public auction, at the Survey Office, Blenheim, at
noon on Tuesday, the 31st May, 1881.
One-fourth of the purchase-money must be paid at
the auction, and the balance within one month, or the
amount of such payment will be forfeited. A deposit
for each section must be paid at the time of comple-
tion of the purchase, to cover the Crown-grant fee.

Immediately after the above sale a license, under
clause 149 of "The Land Act, 1877," to authorize
the occupation of Motuara Island, Queen Charlotte
Sound, estimated to contain 185 acres, will be put
up to auction at the upset annual rent of £3. The
first year's rent to be paid at auction, and subsequent
rent to be paid on every succeeding 1st July and 2nd
January during the continuance of the license. If
any portion of the rent shall remain unpaid for six
months after the same becomes due the license to be
ipso facto forfeited.

19th day of April, 1881.
