lands such blocks or allotments of land as he shall
think fit, and set the same aside for sale on deferred
payments, and in such Proclamation may fix a day
on which the land shall be open for application; and
that he may also in like manner set apart for sale on
deferred payments such blocks or allotments as may
be recommended by any Land Board, and may also
from time to time alter, amend, or revoke any such
Proclamation:

And whereas the Land Board of Otago did, on the
seventh day of April, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-one, pass a resolution recommending that
the land described in the Schedule hereto annexed
should be set apart for sale on deferred payments:

And whereas it is expedient to give effect to the
aforesaid recommendation, and to set apart the said
land accordingly:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pur-
suance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in me by the above-named Act, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the land described in the
Schedule hereto is set apart for sale on deferred pay-
ments; and that Tuesday, the thirty-first day of May,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-one, shall be
the day on which the said land shall be open for
application at the Land Office at Dunedin, in allot-
ments as surveyed and marked on the selection maps
in that office.

And, further, in pursuance of the fifth section of
"The Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1879," I do
hereby fix the price at which the land so described
shall be sold to be the price set opposite each allot-
ment in the Schedule hereto.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHERAS by a Proclamation issued under the
authority of sections one hundred and twenty-
two, one hundred and twenty-three, and one hundred
and twenty-four of "The Public Works Act, 1876,"
the middle line of a portion of the line of railway
from the Hurunui River to the Waitaki River, passing
by Amberley, Rangiora, Kaiapoi, Christchurch, Ash-
burton, and Timaru (Weka Pass Section), being one
of the railways specified in "The Public Works Act,
1879," was defined: And whereas pursuant to the
one hundred and twenty-fifth section of "The Public
Works Act, 1876," the Minister for Public Works
has caused to be made and, on the nineteenth day of
January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty, to
be deposited in the office of the Registrar of the
Supreme Court at Hokitika, in the Provincial District
of Westland, such maps and plans as were necessary
to explain the said portion of the said line of rail-
way and the land through which the same passes, and
such maps and plans were referred to in such Pro-
clamation as aforesaid: And whereas "The Public
Works Act, 1879," enacts that such of the railways
mentioned therein as are unfinished may be com-
pleted under the provisions of "The Public Works
Act, 1876," "The Public Works Act 1876 Amend-
ment Act, 1878," and "The Public Works Act,
1879:" And whereas the land described in the
Schedule hereto is required to be taken for the said
portion of the said line of railway:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
of the powers and authorities conferred by the sixth
section of "The Public Works Act 1876 Amendment
Act, 1878," and of every power and authority in that
behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land
described in the Schedule hereto is taken for the said
portion of the said line of railway.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 1 acre and 1 perch, situate in the
Teviotdale Survey District, being portion of Rural
Section No. 7538, commencing at a point 2415 links
distant from, in a north-easterly direction, the
southernmost corner of said section. Bounded
-Southerly by a line, 101 links; Westerly by lines,
546 and 374 links respectively; North-westerly by
a public road, 154 links; Westerly by lines to com-
mencing point, 510 and 581 links respectively.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 2 acres and 39 perches, situate in the
Teviotdale Survey District, being portion of Rural
Section No. 7538, commencing at a point 4106 links
distant from, in a northerly direction, the southern-
most corner of said section. Bounded-South-
westerly by lines, 1961 and 269 links respectively;
South-easterly by a public road, 118 links; North-
easterly by lines, 201 and 2062 links respectively;
Westerly by the western boundary of said section to
commencing point, 138 links.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 11 acres 2 roods 36 perches, situate
in the Teviotdale and Waikari Survey Districts, being
portions of Rural Sections Nos. 11146 and 11142,
commencing at a point situate 733 links distant from,
in a northerly direction, the southernmost corner of
Section No. 11146 aforesaid. Bounded-South-
easterly by said boundary, 138 links; South-westerly
by lines, 2036, 7200, and 2559 links; North-westerly
by the north-western boundary of Section No. 11142
aforesaid, 105 links; North-easterly by lines to com-
mencing point, 2525, 7200, and 1939 links.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 1 acre 2 roods 24 perches, situate
in the Waikari Survey District, being portion of
Section No. 25301, commencing at the southernmost
corner of Section No. 11146. Bounded-North-
westerly by south-eastern boundary of said Section
