thirtieth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-one, both inclusive (subject nevertheless to
the restrictions in the said Act mentioned). And I
do further notify that licenses to take or kill such
game within the said district shall be issued on pay-
ment of the sum of twenty shillings each, and that
licenses to sell such game shall be issued on payment
of the sum of five pounds each; and the Secre-
tary to the Nelson Acclimatisation Society at Nelson
is hereby appointed to issue the said licenses.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this thirteenth day of April,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
one.

Fixing Shooting Season, License Fee, &c., for
Marlborough District.

ARTHUR GORDON, Governor.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by "The
Animals Protection Act, 1880," I, Arthur Hamil-
ton Gordon, the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, do hereby appoint the Counties of Marl-
borough and Sounds to be a district under the said
Act, to be called the Marlborough District. And I
do hereby notify that cock-pheasants and Californian
quail may be taken or killed within the said Marl-
borough District from the first day of May, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-one, to the thirty-
first day May, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-one, both inclusive (subject nevertheless to
the restrictions in the said Act mentioned). And I
do further notify that licenses to take or kill such
game within the said district shall be issued on pay-
ment of the sum of twenty shillings, and that licenses
to sell such game shall be issued on payment of the
sum of five pounds; and that the Secretary to the
Marlborough Acclimatisation Society, Blenheim, is
hereby appointed to issue the said licenses.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this thirteenth day of April,

North Canterbury District.

ARTHUR GORDON, Governor.

IN TN exercise of the powers vested in me by "The
Animals Protection Act, 1880," I, Arthur Hamil-
ton Gordon, the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, do hereby appoint the Counties of Amuri,
Kaikoura, Cheviot, Ashley, Akaroa, Selwyn, and Ash-
burton to be a district under the said Act, to be
called the North Canterbury District. And I do
hereby notify that hares may be taken or killed
within the said North Canterbury District from the
first day of May, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-one, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-one, both inclusive (subject
nevertheless to the restrictions in the said Act men-
tioned). And I do further notify that licenses to
take or kill such game within the said district shall
be issued on payment of the sum of twenty shillings
each, and that licenses to sell such game shall be
issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each;
and the Secretary to the Canterbury Acclimatisation
Society at Christchurch is hereby appointed to issue
the said licenses.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this thirteenth day of April,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-

dine and Waimate to be a district under the said
Act, to be called the South Canterbury District.
And I do hereby notify that hares may be taken or
killed within the said South Canterbury District
from the first day of May, one thousand eight hun-
dred and eighty-one, to the thirty-first day of July,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-one, both
inclusive; and that cock-pheasants and Californian
quail may be taken or killed within the said district
from the first day of June, one thousand eight hun-
dred and eighty-one, to the thirtieth day of June, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-one, both in-
clusive (subject nevertheless to the restrictions in
the said Act mentioned). And I do further notify
that licenses to take or kill such game within the
said district shall be issued on payment of the sum
of one pound each, and that licenses to sell such
game shall be issued on payment of the sum of five
pounds each; and the Secretary to the South Can-
terbury Acclimatisation Society at Timaru is hereby
appointed to issue the said licenses.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this thirteenth day of April,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
one.

ton Gordon, the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, do hereby appoint the Counties of Wai-
kouaiti, Maniototo, Vincent, Peninsula, Taieri, Bruce,
Clutha, and Tuapeka to be a district under the said
Act, to be called the Otago District. And I do
hereby notify that cock-pheasants and Californian
quail may be taken or killed within the said Otago Dis-
trict from the first day of June, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-one, to the thirty-first day of
July, on one thousand eight hundred and eighty-one,
both inclusive; and that hares may be taken or killed
therein from the first day of May, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-one, to the thirty-first day of July,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-one, both
inclusive (subject nevertheless to the restrictions in
the said Act mentioned). And I do further notify
that licenses to take or kill such game within the
said district shall be issued on payment of the sum
of forty shillings each, and that licenses to sell such
game shall be issued on payment of the sum of five
pounds each; and the Secretary to the Otago
Acclimatisation Society at Dunedin is hereby ap-
pointed to issue the said licenses.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this thirteenth day of April,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
one.
