Season for Shooting Native Game in Counties of
Geraldine and Waimate.
ARTHUR H. GORDON, Governor.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by "The
Animals Protection Act, 1880," I, Arthur Hamil-
ton Gordon, the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, do hereby declare that the native game
mentioned in the Schedule hereto may be taken or
killed, within the Counties of Geraldine and Waimate,
during the period between the first day of April, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-one, and the
thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-one, both inclusive.

SCHEDULE.

WILD duck of any species, bittern, pied stilt plover,
wild geese, dotterell, native pigeon, teal, black stilt
plover, curlew, quail.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this twenty-second day of
March, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-one.

appoint
Mr. JOSEPH HUGH MCALISTER
to be the Deputy of the Registrar of Marriages and
of Births and Deaths for the District of Ahaura.

the hand of the Returning Officer, Mr. A.
Douglas, that on the 7th instant the under-men-
tioned persons were duly elected Trustees of the
West Oreti Rabbit District:-

Proposed Bonus for the Establishment of a Powder
Manufactory.

Colonial Secretary's Office,
Wellington, 19th March, 1881.

THE Government are prepared to receive pro-
posals from any person willing to establish a
factory for the manufacture of blasting and sporting
powder. The proposer to state what amount of
bonus he would require to induce him to undertake
the manufacture.
The place where the factory is to be erected to be
subject to the approval of the Government, the
plans and specifications of the building to be also
approved by Government.
All the internal fittings and the arrangements for
carrying on the manufacture of the gunpowder to
be subject to the inspection of an officer appointed
by the Government.
