Regulations for Tinui Cemetery, County of Wairarapa
East.

THE following regulations for the management of
the Tinui Cemetery have been submitted to His
Excellency the Governor in Council, and are pub-
lished in accordance with "The Cemeteries Manage-
ment Act, 1877."

TINUI CEMETERY REGULATIONS.

  1. The portion of land set apart as a cemetery by
    the Governor in a Proclamation dated the 1st Sep-
    tember, 1881, in Gazette No. 70, page 1133, shall be
    divided into allotments, and be available for inter-
    ment for denominations as follows:-
    (1.) Episcopalians.
    (2.) Roman Catholics.
    (3.) Wesleyans.
    (4.) Presbyterians.
    (5.) Strangers and other denominations.

  2. The scale of fees payable for interment shall be
    as follows:-

For digging grave and filling in same after burial,

For permission to erect a gravestone or cross to
ordinary grave 0 10 0
For the purchase of the exclusive right of interment
in perpetuity or for a limited period, with per-
mission to dig, make or erect brick grave, vault, or
paling fence, subject to approval of the Trustees,
space 9 feet by 9 feet 5 0 0
Ditto, for space not less than 3 feet by 9 feet 2 5 0
Every additional foot 0 15 0
  1. No brick grave, vault, paling fence, cross or
    other tombstone or monument shall be made, dug, or
    erected until permission of the Trustees is first had
    and all fees paid.

  2. A drawing of every stone, tomb, pedestal, and
    plan of every fence, monument, or tablet proposed
    to be erected, and copy of every epitaph or in-
    scription, must be submitted to the Trustees for
    approval.

  3. Any purchaser of private ground in which no
    interment has taken place may transfer his or her
    interest in the said ground to any other person of
    the same denomination, upon payment being made to
    the Treasurer of the Cemetery for the time being of
    a fee of 5s. for such transfer.

  4. No grave shall, under any circumstances, be
    opened for any new interment sooner than after the
    expiry of seven years from the time of the first or
    last interment as the case may be.

  5. All monuments, graves, gravestones, and paling
    fences must be kept in order and good condition by
    and at the expense of the owner.

  6. The Treasurer to the Cemetery for the time
    being shall receive the purchase-money for the sale
    of such lots, and shall give the following receipt for
    the same, which receipt shall be conclusive evidence
    of the purchase of the lot mentioned therein :-

in the custody of the Trustees, to be held by the said A.B. for
the purpose of burial only, and subject to the rules and regula-
tions then in force for the management of said Cemetery.

  1. The Treasurer to the Cemetery for the time
    being shall keep a book in which he shall enter from
    time to time the number of every lot sold, the name
    of the purchaser, and the date of sale. He shall
    keep a record of the burials in the Cemetery.

  2. All applications for interment shall be made
    to the custodian in charge of the Cemetery at least
    twenty-four hours before the hour of burial.

  3. No vehicle or horse shall be allowed within
    the boundaries of the Cemetery.

  4. No one but the person authorized by the
    Trustees, being the custodian for the time being,
    shall be permitted to dig graves in the Cemetery.

  5. The record-book shall be open for inspection
    by the public at all reasonable hours.

  6. A statement of all receipts and disbursements
    for each year ending the 31st December shall be
    submitted by the Treasurer in the month of January
    to a meeting of the Trustees, when an Auditor shall
    be chosen to audit the same; and such account, when
    audited, shall be open for inspection by an officer
    duly appointed by the Governor.

  7. The Secretary to the Trustees for the time
    being, or any two Trustees, shall be empowered to
    convene all necessary meetings, either by advertise-
    ment in some local paper, or by a written circular to
    each member of the Board.

  8. The Trustees reserve the right to make and
    alter from time to time the above charges and regu-
    lations.

Act, 1880."

THE following rules (preliminary), made by Judges
of the Supreme Court under "The Election
Petitions Act, 1880," are published for general in-
formation at the request of his Honor the Chief
Justice.

RULES.

In pursuance of the provisions of "The Election
Petitions Act, 1880," it is ordered by us, the Chief
Justice and two other of the Judges of the Supreme
Court, that the following shall be general rules
under the said Act for the purposes, or some of them,
mentioned in the fourteenth section thereof:-

  1. The following form, or one to the like effect,
    shall be the form of petition to be used for the pur-
    poses of "The Election Petitions Act, 1880:"-

In the Supreme Court of New Zealand.
"The Election Petitions Act, 1880."
