The following remarks apply only to the above four principal boroughs :—
The births were 245 in November, against 257 in October, a decrease of 12.
The deaths in November were 83, against 72 in October, an increase of 11.
There were 5 deaths of persons of 65 years and upwards: a male of 68 and 2 females of 72 and 75 died at Auckland; a
male of 73 at Wellington; and a male of 82 at Christchurch.

Zymotic Diseases. These diseases caused 18 deaths in November, against 17 in October. There was a slight increase in
the deaths from scarlatina: 8 in November, 4 in October; five of these deaths in November occurred in Dunedin. Three deaths
from diphtheria occurred in Wellington. There was not any death from typhoid fever.

Constitutional Diseases. The deaths from these causes were 17 in November, against 15 in October. There were 11
deaths from phthisis in November.

Local Diseases. There were 35 deaths from these causes in November, against 32 in October. Diseases of the digestive
organs caused 7 deaths in November, against 4 in October.
