A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and au-
thorities conferred upon me by the twentieth
section of "The Land Act 1877 Amendment Act,
1879," I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby set apart
the lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto for
sale as a village settlement, upon such terms and
conditions as are set forth in an Order in Council
of even date herewith, and made under the twenty-
first section of the said Act.

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor. of
the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exer-
cise of the powers and authorities conferred upon
him by the hereinbefore in part recited Act, and by
and with the advice of the Executive Council of the
Colony of New Zealand, doth hereby fix the following
terms and conditions upon which the said village
settlement shall be disposed of, and the mode of
payment for the same, that is to say, β€”

  1. The lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto
    shall be disposed of as village allotments.
  2. The day upon which the lands shall be open for
    application shall be Saturday, the twenty-first day of
    January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two,
    at the Public Hall, Aratapu, Northern Wairoa.
  3. The lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto
    shall be sold for cash immediately on purchase.
  4. No person shall be allowed to acquire more than
    one section.
  5. The prices stated in the Schedule hereto shall
    be the prices at which the lands shall be open for
    application.
  6. If there should be more than one application
    for any allotment, the right to purchase the same
    shall be determined by auction amongst the applicants
    only.
  7. The purchaser of any lands described in the
    Schedule hereto, upon the full payment of the pur-
    chase-money, will be entitled to his Crown grant,
    to be issued in the usual way upon payment of the
    fees prescribed by law.

Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Her Majesty's High
Commissioner for the Western Pacific,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-fourth day of November, in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-one.
