A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by a Proclamation issued under the
authority of sections one hundred and twenty-
two, one hundred and twenty-three, and one hundred
and twenty-four of "The Public Works Act, 1876,"
the middle line of a further portion of the railway
from Wellington to Napier, being one of the railways
specified in "The Public Works Act, 1879," was
defined: And whereas pursuant to the one hundred
and twenty-fifth section of "The Public Works Act,
1876," the Minister for Public Works has caused to
be made and, on the third day of July, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty, to be deposited in the
office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court at
Wellington, such maps and plans as were necessary
to explain the said portion of the aforesaid line of
railway and the land through which the same passes,
and such maps and plans were referred to in such
Proclamation as aforesaid: And whereas "The
Public Works Act, 1879," enacts that such of the
railways mentioned therein as are unfinished may be
completed under the provisions of "The Public
Works Act, 1876," "The Public Works Act 1876
Amendment Act, 1878," and "*The Public Works
Act, 1879:" And whereas the land described in the
Schedule hereto is required to be taken for the said
portion of the said line of railway:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
of the powers and authorities conferred by the sixth
section of "The Public Works Act 1876 Amendment
Act, 1878," and of every power and authority in that
behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land
SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 2 acres 1 rood 28 perches, more or less,
commencing at a point at the intersection of the
south-eastern boundary of Moss Street with the
south-eastern boundary of Lambton Quay. Bounded
as follows: Generally Westerly by Lambton Quay,
58, 189, 233, 125, and 84 links respectively; North-
westerly by land acquired for the Wellington and
Napier Railway, and Port Nicholson Harbour, 87
links; generally North-easterly and Easterly by Port
Nicholson Harbour, 462, 242, 199, and 168 links
respectively; South-westerly by the north-eastern
boundary of Moss Street to commencing point, 586
links.
Also all that piece or parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 21 acres 3 roods 24 perches, more or
less, commencing at a point at the intersection of the
south-western boundary of Moss Street with the
south-eastern boundary of Lambton Quay. Bounded
as follows: Westerly by the eastern boundary of
Lambton Quay in lines, 59, 74, 75, 75, 76, 76, 77, 99,
61, 99, 82, 83, 84, 36, 49, 454, 91, and 61 links respec-
tively; by the south-eastern boundary of Featherston
Street, 91, 592, 364, and 907 links respectively;
Southerly by the northern boundary of Whitmore
Street, 339 links; South-easterly by the north-western
boundary of Waterloo Quay, 388, 676, 2493, and 82
links respectively; North-easterly by the south-
eastern boundary of Moss Street, 213 links; North-
westerly by land occupied by Marine and Telegraph
Departments, 299 links; North-easterly by same,
123 links; South-easterly by same, 299 links; North-
earterly by the south-eastern boundary of Moss
Street to commencing point, 174 links.
