which, in his opinion, are required for any of the
purposes in the said section mentioned:
And whereas by "The Whangarei High School
Act, 1878," it is enacted that the land described in
the Schedule thereto shall be vested in the Board
of Governors as an endowment in aid of establishing
and maintaining a High School in the County of
Whangarei, excepting fifty acres, more or less, to be
selected for a cemetery:
And whereas the land described in the Schedule
hereto has been so selected:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested
in me by the Land Act aforesaid, do hereby tempo-
rarily reserve from sale the land in the Land District
of Auckland described in the Schedule hereunder
written, for the purposes in the said Schedule speci-
fied.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 50 acres,
more or less, situated in the Purua Survey District,
and being a portion of the block called or known by
the name of the Kioreroa, and numbered 3494A.
Bounded towards the North by the Raumanga Nos.
2 and 1 Blocks, 2701 links; towards the East by a
line, 2000 links; towards the South by a line, 2298
links; and towards the West by a road-line, 2040
links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.
For a cemetery.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this twelfth day of November,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
one.

Authorizing the Sale of a Piece of Land at
Christchurch.

BY virtue of the power and authority contained in
"The Special Powers and Contracts Act, 1881,"
I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby authorize the
Commissioner of Crown Lands for the Canterbury
Land District to sell, for the sum of sixty pounds,
being the price which has been fixed by valuation,
the under-mentioned parcel of land, viz. :-

A strip of land in the Town of Christchurch, lying
between the eastern wall of the Police Building on
Section No. 473 and the eastern boundary of that
section, having $4\frac{1}{2}$ links frontage to Hereford Street
by a depth of 126 links.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this twelfth day of November,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
one.
