A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by a Proclamation issued under the
authority of sections one hundred and twenty-
two, one hundred and twenty three, and one hundred
and twenty-four of "The Public Works Act, 1876,"
the middle line of a portion of the branch line of
railway from Bunnythorpe to Woodville from the
main line, Foxton to New Plymouth, being one of
the railways specified in "The Public Works Act,
1879," was defined: And whereas pursuant to the
one hundred and twenty-fifth section of "The Public
Works Act, 1876," the Minister for Public Works
has caused to be made and, on the twenty-seventh
day of July, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty, to be deposited in the office of the Registrar
of the Supreme Court at Wellington, such maps and
plans as were necessary to explain the said portion
of the said branch line of railway and the land
through which the same passes, and such maps and
plans were referred to in such Proclamation as
aforesaid: And whereas "The Public Works Act,
1879," enacts that such of the railways mentioned
therein as are unfinished may be completed under the
provisions of "The Public Works Act, 1876," "The
Public Works Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1878," and
"The Public Works Act, 1879:" And whereas the
land described in the Schedule hereto is required to
be taken for a portion of the said branch line of
railway:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator
of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand,
in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
by the sixth section of "The Public Works Act 1876
Amendment Act, 1878," and of every power and
authority in that behalf, doth hereby proclaim and
declare that the land described in the Schedule
SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 83 acres, more or less, situate in the
Survey District of Gorge, Provincial District of
Wellington, being a portion of the Manchester
Block, commencing at a Government block on the
Northerly by a line, 5000 links; thence Easterly by
the boundary of the Manchester Block, 549 links to
the Manawatu River; thence generally Southerly
by the Manawatu River to its junction with the
Pohangina River, 4000 links or thereabouts; thence
generally Southerly and Westerly by the Pohangina
River to the commencing point, 7600 links or there-
abouts: the same being more particularly delineated
upon the plan marked P.W.D. 7738, deposited in the
office of the Minister for Public Works at Welling-
ton, in the Provincial District of Wellington.
Given under the hand of His Excellency James
Prendergast, Esquire, Chief Justice, the
Administrator of the Government of Her
Majesty's Colony of New Zealand; and
issued under the Seal of the said Colony,
at the Government House, at Wellington,
this fourth day of October, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and eighty.
