stage shall exceed twelve miles, except by special
permission from the Postmaster-General, who shall
determine whether or not longer stages are unavoid-
able.

Contractors whose tenders may be accepted must
be prepared to carry out the services for which they
tender according to the time-tables framed by the
department.

Forms of tender, with the terms and conditions of
contract, may be procured at any post office.

No tender will be considered unless made on the
printed form.

Tenders, indorsed "Tender for Mail Service, No.
," to be addressed to the Postmaster-General,
Wellington, and enclosed to the Chief Postmaster of
the postal district to which the tender may specially
refer.

of the Ancient Order of Foresters Friendly
Society, situated at Sydenham, and COURT PRIDE OF
COURTENAY, No. 6031, of the Ancient Order of
Foresters Friendly Society, situated at Courtenay,
are registered as branches of the Canterbury United
District of the New Zealand Ancient Order of
Foresters Friendly Society, under "The Friendly
Societies Act, 1877," this 15th day of September,
1880.

Crown Lands Notices.

Sale of Waimate Plains.

Crown Lands Office,
Wellington, 9th September, 1880.

IT is hereby notified that the lands described in
the Schedule hereunder will be offered for sale
on deferred and immediate payments.

The sections on deferred payments will be open
for application on Monday, the 25th October, at the
Land Offices, Carlyle and Hawera. Sections for
which there are more than one application will be
submitted to auction, between the applicants only,
on Thursday, the 28th October, at Hawera.

The price of land on deferred payments will be
Β£5 an acre. Five shillings per acre will have to be
deposited on making application. Each applicant
will only be allowed to apply for one section on
deferred payments.

Applicants for land on deferred payments may
send their applications and deposits, with statutory
declaration as required by "The Land Act, 1877,"
through post to Land Office, Carlyle, Patea, to arrive
on or before the 25th October. Envelopes should be
marked "Application for deferred-payment land,
Waimate Survey District."

The land on immediate payments will be sold by
public auction, open to all bidders, on Friday, the
29th October, at Hawera. Upset price, Β£4 an acre.
