Prescribing Form of Statement under "The Property
Assessment Act Amendment Act, 1880."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
thirteenth day of September, 1880.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE
GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by an Order in Council made and
issued under the provisions of "The Property
Assessment Act, 1879," on the sixth day of April last
past, certain forms of statements of real and personal
property were prescribed by regulations made for
that purpose: And whereas by "The Property
Assessment Act Amendment Act, 1880," it is, among
other things, enacted that, notwithstanding anything
contained in "The Property Assessment Act, 1879,"
the Governor in Council may from time to time
prescribe the form in which any statement of pro-
perty required by the aforesaid Act shall be fur-
nished, and the particulars that shall be stated in
relation to any such property: And whereas it is
expedient that a form of statement of property should
be prescribed under the provisions of the last in part
recited Act:

Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, Esquire,
Chief Justice of the Colony of New Zealand, and
Administrator of the Government thereof, in pur-
suance and exercise of the powers and authorities
contained in "The Property Assessment Act Amend-
ment Act, 1880," and of all other powers and
authorities in this behalf enabling me, and by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said colony, do hereby order and prescribe
that, from and after the fifteenth day of September
instant, the form in which statements of property
required by "The Property Assessment Act, 1879,"
shall be furnished is that set forth in the Schedule
hereto, and that the particulars to be stated in relation
to any such property are those indicated in the said
form: Provided that where any person has, prior to
the coming into operation of this Order in Council,
furnished any statement of property under "The
Property Assessment Act, 1879," or any regulations
made thereunder, he shall not be required to furnish
any further statement except in such manner and to
such extent as may be required by law: Provided
further that the extended period within which state-
ments of property may be furnished, in pursuance of
an Order in Council bearing even date herewith,
shall apply to the form prescribed by this Order in
Council.

ment of all your property in the following form,
and cause the same to be forwarded to the Deputy
Commissioner of your district at

before the 25th October, 1880, in default of which
you will be liable to a penalty of £100, and to be
assessed and charged treble duty.

Trustees and Agents of persons temporarily or permanently absent
from the colony are required to render statements of the properties for
which they are trustees or agents. See sections 19 and 20 of the Act of
1879.

The above form may be varied or altered by Agents or Trustees, in
such manner as may be necessary to show who is the person beneficially
interested in the property.

Property Assessment Act, 1879," within the districts
set above their names respectively, that is to say,-

    Joseph Newman, Henry Greensmith Wade, Thomas
    Cheeseman, and Henry Martin, all of Auckland;
