PURSUANT to the provisions of an Act of the
General Assembly of New Zealand, passed in
the forty-fourth year of the reign of Her Majesty
Queen Victoria, and intituled "The Marriage Act,
1880," the following names of Officiating Ministers
within the meaning of the said Act are published for
general information :-
Wesleyan Methodist Society.
The Reverend William Slade.
Presbyterian Church of Otago and Southland.
The Reverend James Blackie.

IT is notified that, the Rev. ALFRED TAYLOR having
retired from the Wesleyan Methodist Society,
and ceased to be an Officiating Minister, his name
has been erased from the list of Officiating Ministers
under "The Marriage Act, 1880," at the request of
the President of the Wesleyan Conference.

Registration of Friendly Society cancelled.

IT is hereby notified that the registration of the
Loyal Goldsborough Lodge, No. 5851, M.U.,
I.O.O.F., Friendly Society, has been cancelled in
terms of section 11 (1) (b) of "The Friendly
Societies Act, 1877," on the ground that the said
Society has ceased to exist.

NOTICE.—HENRY HAMERSLEY TRAVERS, of Wel-
lington, in the Colony of New Zealand, a
Solicitor of the Supreme Court of the said colony,
has this day been appointed by his Honor the Chief
Justice a Commissioner of the Supreme Court of
New Zealand, under the 14th section of the "Con-
veyancing Ordinance Amendment Act, 1860," for
the purpose of taking acknowledgments of married
women under any Act or law in force in the Colony
of New Zealand requiring such acknowledgments to
be made or taken.

Crown Lands Notices.
Sale of Waimate Plains.
Crown Lands Office,
Wellington, 9th September, 1880.
IT is hereby notified that the lands described in
the Schedule hereunder will be offered for sale
on deferred and immediate payments.
The sections on deferred payments will be open
for application on Monday, the 25th October, at the
Land Offices, Carlyle and Hawera. Sections for
which there are more than one application will be
submitted to auction, between the applicants only,
on Thursday, the 28th October, at Hawera.
The price of land on deferred payments will be
£5 an acre. Five shillings per acre will have to be
deposited on making application. Each applicant
will only be allowed to apply for one section on
deferred payments.
Applicants for land on deferred payments may
send their applications and deposits, with statutory
declaration as required by "The Land Act, 1877,"
through post to Land Office, Carlyle, Patea, to arrive
on or before the 25th October. Envelopes should be
marked "Application for deferred-payment land,
Waimate Survey District."
The land on immediate payments will be sold by
public auction, open to all bidders, on Friday, the
29th October, at Hawera. Upset price, £4 an acre.
