Notice of entry, with satisfactory testimonials as
to personal character, and the London matriculation
fee of £2, must be sent to the Secretary for Educa-
tion, Wellington, so as to reach his office not later
than the 1st September. Candidates are recom-
mended to give still earlier notice by telegraph.

Crown Lands Notices.

Gold-Mining Lease to be granted.

IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of
"The Mines Act, 1877," and with the regula-
tions made under that Act for the granting of leases
for gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it
is intended to grant a lease of Crown lands for gold-
mining purposes to the applicant specified in the
annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objec-
tions against such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating
the grounds of objection, must be made in writ-
ing, and lodged with the Warden at Waikaia on or
before the 6th day of September, 1880.

Copy of the application made and plan annexed
may be seen at the Warden's Office at Waikaia.

SCHEDULE.

APPLICANT: Simon Harker. Style under which it
is intended to conduct the business: "Look-out
Claim Company." 5 acres, in the Switzer's Min-
ing District (being part of Section 10, Block IX.,
Chatton).
