Defining the Purposes of Reserves.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-fourth day of August, 1880.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the lands described in the Schedule
hereto are now vested in Her Majesty, being
lines of road which were closed by a Proclamation
dated the twenty-second day of June, one thousand
eight hundred and sixty-nine, issued under the hand
of Thomas Fraser, Esquire, the Deputy Superinten-
dent of the Province of Otago, and also by a Procla-
mation dated the twenty-fifth day of March, one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-two, issued by
his Honor James Macandrew, the Superintendent
of the aforesaid province, in pursuance of the powers
conferred upon them by "The Roads Diversion Ordi-
nance, 1868," and "The Roads Diversion Ordinance,
1871," respectively: And whereas it is desirable
that the lands should be dealt with as provided by
"The Public Reserves Act Amendment Act, 1878:"
Now, therefore, I, Sir Hercules George Robert
Robinson, the Governor of the Colony of New Zea-
land, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, and in exer-
cise of the powers and authorities conferred upon
me by the sixth section of "The Public Reserves
Act Amendment Act, 1878," and all other powers
and authorities enabling me in that behalf, do hereby
declare and define that the purposes for which the said
lands shall, from and after the day of the date hereof,
be dedicated, shall be for public highways.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Otago, containing by admeasurement 2 acres and
32 perches, more or less, situate in the Anderson's
Bay District, being Section No. 396R, Block
VIII., on the map of the said district. Bounded
towards the North-west by a road-line, 70 links;
towards the North-east by Sections numbered respec-
tively 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16, Block VIII., 3680
links; towards the South-east by a road-line, 60
links; and towards the South-west by Section No. 8,
Block V., by Section No. 397R, also by Section No.
7, Block IV., 3690 links: be all the aforesaid linkages
more or less.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Otago, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 3 roods
8 perches, more or less, situate in the Anderson's
Bay District, being Section No. 397R, Block IV.,
on the map of the said district. Bounded towards the
North-west by Sections numbered respectively 2, 3,
4, 5, 6, and 7, 3000 links; towards the North-east by
Section No. 396R, 60 links; towards the South-east by
Sections numbered respectively 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8,
Block V., 3000 links; and towards the South-west
by a road-line, 60 links.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Otago, containing by admeasurement 3 roods, more
or less, situate in the Anderson's Bay District,
being Section No. 398R on the map of the said
district. Bounded towards the North-west by Sec-
tions numbered respectively 6, 7, and 8, 1250 links;
towards the North-east by a road-line, 60 links;
towards the South-east by Sections numbered respec-
tively 6, 7, and 8, Block VI., 1250 links; and towards
the South-west by a road-line, 60 links.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Otago, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 8
perches, more or less, situate in the Anderson's
Bay District, being Section No. 399R on the map
of the said district. Bounded towards the North-
west by Section No.3, Block V., 500 links; towards the
North-east by Section No. 243R, 60 links; towards
the South-east by Section No. 3, Block VI., 500
links; and towards the South-west by a road-line,
60 links.
As the same are delineated on the official maps in
the Survey Office, Dunedin.

Lands permanently reserved.
HERCULES ROBINSON, Governor.
WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth section of "The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted that
the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the
same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then
held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which, in his opinion, are required for any of the purposes in
the said section mentioned:
And whereas by the one hundred and forty-fifth section of the said Act it is provided that land tempo-
rarily reserved under the said one hundred and forty-fourth section may, at the expiration of one month
but not later than six months after the publication in the Gazette of notice of such temporary reservation,
be permanently reserved, and that notice of such permanent reservation shall be published in the Gazette :
And whereas the lands specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto were, by the several
warrants the dates of which are specified in the third column of the said Schedule, and the notifications of
which were published in the Gazettes specified in the fourth column, temporarily reserved under the
authority of the said Act for the purposes specified in the second column of the said Schedule:
Now, therefore, I, Sir Hercules George Robert Robinson, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the said Act, do hereby permanently
reserve the lands so temporarily reserved as aforesaid, and enumerated in the first column of the Schedule
hereto, for the purposes specified in the second column of the said Schedule, being the same purposes for
which the said lands were so temporarily reserved as aforesaid.
