HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to
appoint
JOSEPH GODFREY HOLDSWORTH, Esq.,
Commissioner of Crown Lands, Wellington, to be a
Commissioner for hearing and deciding claims to
land under the New Zealand Company, and to be a
Commissioner, within the Wellington District, under
"The Lost Land Orders Act, 1861." The appoint-
ment to date from the 1st April, 1880.

Notice of Petition for certain Land to be added to
the Borough of Gladstone.

Wellington, 16th August, 1880.
HIS Excellency the Governor directs it to be
notified that, unless within two months after
the publication of this notice a petition is presented to
His Excellency the Governor signed by not less than
one-third of the burgesses of the Borough of Glad-
stone, or a petition signed by not less than one-third
of the resident householders in the district proposed
to be added to the aforesaid borough, praying that
such district may not be incorporated into the said
borough, His Excellency will, by Proclamation, in-
corporate into the said borough the said district.
The boundaries of the district proposed to be incor-
porated are as follow:-
All that area in the Provincial District of Otago,
containing by admeasurement 86 acres and 38
poles, more or less, being Section No. 29, Block I.,
Invercargill Hundred, and including parts of Main
North Road and road along New River Estuary.
Bounded towards the North by Section No. 30 of
said block, and the southern boundary-line of that
section produced to the western side of road along
the said estuary, 4400 links; towards the East by
Section No. 24, and a road-line, 1994 links; towards
the South by Section No. 28 of said Block I., and the
northern boundary-line of that section produced to
the western side of a road-line along the New River
Estuary, 4250 links; and towards the West by the
western side of a road-line forming the western
boundary of said Section No. 29, 1999 links: be
the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is
delineated on the plan deposited in the Survey Office,
Invercargill.

NOTICE is hereby given, under section 10 of
"The Sheep Act, 1878," that the Governor has
been pleased to determine that all that tract of land
comprised within the boundaries of the run or runs
now in the occupation of McArthur Brothers, being
partly in the Amuri and partly in the Waiau Sub-
divisions of the Marlborough and Waiau Sheep
Districts, shall be included in the Amuri Subdivision
of the Marlborough Sheep District.
