Changing the Purpose of a Reserve.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-second day of June, 1880.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the first column
of the Schedule hereto is a reserve for
public buildings :

And whereas the said reserve is for one of the pur-
poses named in Part I. of the Schedule to “The
Public Reserves Act Amendment Act, 1878,” and, in
the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to
change the purpose of such reserve referred to in
the Schedule hereto to another of the purposes named
in the said Part I., as hereinafter mentioned :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in him by the sixth section of “The Public
Reserves Act Amendment Act, 1878,” doth hereby
order and direct that the purpose of the reserve
mentioned in the first column of the Schedule hereto
shall be changed from that of a reserve for public
buildings, and doth hereby declare and define the pur-
pose of the said reserve to be that specified in the
second column of the said Schedule, the same being
one of the purposes named in Part I. of the Schedule
to the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

Description and Purpose of Reserve. Intended Purpose.
All that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 2 acres 1 rood, more or less, being Section 65, in the Town of Havelock, in the Provincial District of Marlborough. Bounded on the North by Section 66, 790 links; on the East by Wairau Road; on the South by Kavanagh Street, 700 links; and on the West by Nicholson Street, 300 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For police purposes.

for public use, authorized to be sold.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-second day of June, 1880.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section twenty-nine of “The
Public Works Act, 1876” (hereinafter re-
ferred to as “the said Act”), it is enacted that, if
it is found that any land taken under that Act is
not required for public use, the Governor may, by
an Order in Council publicly notified and gazetted,
cause the same to be sold under the conditions
therein set forth :

And whereas by the ninety-fourth section of the
said Act it is enacted that the land occupied by any
road stopped as provided by the said Act shall be
dealt with as provided by the twenty-ninth and fol-
lowing sections of the said Act in the case of lands
not required for public use :

And whereas the roads, the land occupied by which
is described in the Schedule hereto, have been stopped
under the authority of the said Act :

And whereas the Road Board of the Remuera
Road District has laid before the Governor the
memorial referred to in the twenty-ninth section of
the said Act, praying the Governor, by an Order in
Council, to cause such land to be sold :

Now, therefore, I, Sir Hercules George Robert
Robinson, the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise
and pursuance of the powers and authorities afore-
said, do hereby order and authorize the land de-
scribed in the Schedule hereto to be sold and dealt
with in the manner and subject to the conditions of
the twenty-ninth and following sections of the said
Act.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 1 acre 1 rood 25 perches, more or
less, situated in the Survey District of Rangitoto,
Provincial District of Auckland, being a part of
Allotments 96 and 97, Section 16, Remuera, Suburbs
of Auckland, Parish of Waitemata; commencing at
the south-easternmost corner of Allotment 10, sub-
division of part of Allotments 96 and 97 aforesaid.
Bounded—Easterly by a public road, 98 links;
then south-easterly by Allotment 9, by a curved
line, 342 links; thence north-easterly by Allotments
8, 7, 6, 5, 4, and 3, 726 links; thence northerly by
Allotment 2, by a curved line, 330 links; thence
easterly by a public road, 95 links; thence southerly
by Allotments 1 and 20, by a curved line, 466 links;
thence south-westerly by Allotments 19, 18, 17, 16,
15, and 14, 726 links; thence north-westerly and
northerly to commencing point by Allotments 13, 12,
11, and 10, by a curved line, 504 links or thereabouts:
be the aforesaid linkages more or less; and the same
being more particularly delineated upon the map
attached to the memorial referred to.

Canterbury.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-eighth
section of “The Land Act, 1877,” power is
given to the Governor to exchange any land set apart
as a reserve for other land of equal value as he may
think fit, and to make a Crown grant thereof accord-
ingly :
