Changing the Purpose of Portion of a Reserve.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
fifteenth day of June, 1880.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the first column
of the Schedule hereto is a reserve for the use
of the Provincial Government and for other public
purposes, and particularly for a police station:

And whereas the said reserve is for one of the pur-
poses named in Part I. of the Schedule to "The
Public Reserves Act Amendment Act, 1878," and, in
the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to change
the purpose of a portion of such reserve referred to
in the Schedule hereto to other of the purposes
named in the said Part I., as hereinafter mentioned:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in him by the sixth section of "The Public
Reserves Act Amendment Act, 1878," doth hereby
order and direct that the purpose of a portion of the
reserve mentioned in the first column of the Schedule
hereto shall be changed from that of a reserve for the
use of the Provincial Government and other public
purposes, and particularly for a police station, and
doth hereby declare and define the purpose of the
said reserve to be that specified in the second
column of the said Schedule, the same being one of
the purposes named in Part I. of the Schedule to the
said Act.

Area of which the Purpose is intended to be
Changed.

Intended Purpose.

All that parcel of land in the Ashburton
Survey District, Provincial District of Canter-
bury, containing 20 acres, more or less, being
part of Reserve 1261 (in red). Bounded
North-westward by the road adjoining the
Southern Railway Reserve; North-eastward
by a road-line, 1270 links; South-eastward
by a line parallel to the north-west boundary;
and South-westward by Section 5800: and
numbered 2471 (in red) on the official map in
the Survey Office, Christchurch.

Vesting a Reserve.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
fifteenth day of June, 1880.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule
hereto was reserved as a site for athenæum
buildings: And whereas, in the opinion of the
Governor, it is expedient to vest the said land in
William Aitcheson, Joseph Robertson, and William
Shore, the trustees of the Kaitangata Athenæum,
under "The Kaitangata and Wangaloa Athenæum
Reserves Act, 1879:"

Now, therefore, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said colony, and in
exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him
by the sixth section of "The Public Reserves Act
Amendment Act, 1878," doth hereby declare that,
from and after the fifteenth day of June, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty, the said reserve shall be-
come vested in the said trustees of the Kaitangata
Athenæum.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Otago, situate in the Town of Kaitangata, and
estimated to contain 2 roods. Bounded towards the
North by Section No. 1, Block IV., North Molyneux
Survey District, 225 links; towards the East by a
line, 550 links; and towards the West by the Clutha
River, 600 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more
or less.

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in
me by the eleventh section of "The Public
Reserves Act, 1877," I, Sir Hercules George Robert
Robinson, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said colony, do hereby order and
declare that the reserve made for public recreation
in the Provincial District of Auckland, and known as
