Mining Notices.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT A
WATER-RACE.

To the Mining Registrar at Clyde of the Otago Gold
Fields Mining District, and all other persons whom
it may concern.

T
AKE notice that it is intended to construct a
Water-race for domestic and irrigation purposes,
commencing at a point at the mouth of the gorge of
Blackman's Gully, near Kane's Claim, and termi-
nating on the Mining Reserve in Block X., Leaning
Rock District.

The length of such race is about one mile, the
mean breadth will be about 2 feet, and the depth
about 1 foot, and it is supposed to carry one head of
water; the course west and east.

T a Special Meeting of Shareholders, held in my
office on Tuesday, the 25th day of May, 1880,
the following resolution was unanimously adopted:-
"That this meeting of shareholders in the Hokitika
Quartz-Mining Company (Limited), having received
and considered the Liquidator's report and account,
is of opinion that the affairs of the Company have
been fairly wound up."

Phormium Tenax, and used in Reaper and
Binder Machines.

JAMES SEED, of Rangiora, in the County of Ash-
ley, New Zealand, Flaxdresser and Rope and Twine
Manufacturer, has deposited at this office a specifica-
tion of the said invention; and I have appointed
Friday, the 20th day of August next, at 10 o'clock in
the forenoon, at this office, to hear the said applica-
tion and all objections thereto; and I require all
persons having an interest in opposing the grant of
such Letters Patent to leave, on or before the 16th
day of August next, at this office, particulars in
writing of their objections to the said application,
otherwise they will be precluded from urging the
same.

facias, duly issued out of the Supreme Court of
New Zealand at the suit of the CREDITORS' TRUSTEE
in BANKRUPTCY of the property of WILLIAM ROBIN-
SON and BERIA ROBINSON, late of Dunsandel, Store-
keepers, Plaintiff, of Christchurch, in the Canterbury
District, I have taken in execution the fee-simple of
Beria Robinson, late of Riccarton, deceased, Labourer,
in all that parcel of land, containing by admeasure-
ment 2 acres, more or less, situate in the Christ-
church District of the said Province of Canterbury,
and being that part of the Rural Section numbered
145 on the map of the Chief Surveyor of the said
province, setting out and describing the rural land in
the said district, now in the occupation of James
Robinson, of Addington; and that I intend to cause
the same to be sold at the office of H. Matson and
Co., at Christchurch aforesaid, on Saturday, the
twenty-eighth day of August, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty, at two o'clock in the after-
noon.

The Solicitors for the Execution Creditor are
Messrs. Wynn-Williams and Deacon, of Christ-
church, aforesaid.

writing within forty days from the date of publication
hereof to the Chairman of the Hawke's Bay County
